Just curious if anyone has had any engine problems that can be related to their reflash yet?

 

Haven't heard of any. I personally didn't have any before I traded in my car.

:shakehead Nope, didnt' tell them. And no, they probably won't touch the ECU. Whoever buys my old car is gonna be in for a big surprise.

There was this one member who posted an interesting story about the reflash but I wouldn't worry too much about what he said. He's kinda senile if you ask me. Here is the thead

 

The only performance mod i have so far is Injen air intake, I feel like there is no point in doing any other engine performance mods without reflashing first.

 

I've notice that my gas bill is much higher. Other than that, Hondata is the sh*t!

 

No downside for me, had it for about six months and I smile everytime I vtec at 5k. The headers and intake (and eventually cat) really open up the reflash's effect, but it was great even before I did those mods.

I dont think that added power is gonna do anything for the car.. the extra 10HP did nothing for the 05 RSX typeS.. just made it a tenth of a second faster.. Its nice that the TSX kept the K24a though.. the RSX's are not the K20a anymore

i just have some paranoia from a past chip experience on an audi S4. but i think that was a different situation because you are messing with turbo boost pressures.

 

04 gets the reflash kit, 06 gets the hp increase. where does that leave us 05's?

Yes, one big problem. It's driving me nuts waiting for my ECU to get back to me.

 

But you lose the advantage after 6000 rpm. And my butt dyno feels like the powerband below 5000 rpm seems pretty much identical, but a Hondata'd car would have an advantage between 5000 and 6000 rpm, but the 06 will pull away at the top end with a 10 or more hp advantage. Should be a pretty close call. Might come down to the driver.

 

Do you mean the powerband below 5000 rpm feels identical between your Hondatafied '04 and your '06, or between Hondata/non-Hondata '04?

 

Between my Hondata'd 04 and my new 06.

 

at to mt can't really compare.

It wouldn't be surprising if the 06 lost some torque under 6k rpms as comapred to the 04-05 because fo the higher flowing intake manifold and exhaust. Well just have to see when dynos come out for the mt.
