2007 Hondata

Does anyone know if Hondata can reflash 2007 (automatic) ecu's? They don't have any info on reflashing '07 tsx's.

I don't think they're doing 2007's as of yet...

Sorry man, but they don't have a reflash for the 07s and word from Hondata is that they don't plan on working to crack the new ECUs, so you may be out of luck for quite a while .

damn that really sucks! I just bought my tsx and I've been waiting for the day where I can reflash my ecu. By the way does reflashing void the warranty?

Does anyone know why they don't plan on cracking the 2007 ECU's?

this is what hondata emailed me when i had asked about the 07 reflash:

'Our data shows us that the ECU has been upgraded for the 2007 model yearwith part number RBB-A71, which we cannot do. If and when we can do thisreflash, we will post it on the web site.'

someone asked something similar on their forum and one of their site admins said 'At this time we cannot. If we can in the future it will be listed on our website.'

both statements are pretty open-ended. but i've never read a 'no, we are not going to reflash the 07s.'

i'm hoping they're at least trying to, b/c it would suck for 07+ owners. if they can't do it, i wish they'd say so. i'd start looking for older ecu's/immobilizers if that was the case.

^^ I wonder if this is what's keeping the 05AT from getting reflashed as well.

If you get lucky finding any old capable immobilizers/ecus for automatics to reflash, let us know! This really sucks how we all rely on this one company who can't even give us a more detailed answer as in to why they are not re-flashing 07 ecus at this time.

actually ebay has them for 05-06 models for around $280. They look dirty and were probably taken from totaled cars.

i just saw them. too bad they're selling for $200+. that's like an over-$800 investment to get the hondata (cost of ecu, reflashing ecu, matching ecu up with key/immobilizer). bummer.

c'mon hondata. get your reflash on for the 07's.

Sorry buddy, they don't listen to us any more than anyone else. It seems to me they've got their internal priorities around supporting KPro first, and managing reflashes second. In the meantime, you should be able to use an 06 ECU as long as you don't mind losing TPMS.

hmm...actually, i find the TPMS kind of convenient. haha.

so i asked on their board if the 07 change has any relation to the 05 AT's inability to be reflashed and this was the response:

'Not related. It is unlikely that we will ever be able to reflash the 05 automatic TSX.'

what if we started a list of people that would purchase the 2007 reflash as soon as it was available, and sent it to hondata. that might sway them if we could get enough people. i'm sure it'd have to be more than 10, but if we could get, say, 50 names, at 600 a pop that's 30k for them. might give them some motivation. i'll start.

amen, you got slickrab down! Whats so hard about emulating the 06' ecu and finding a resolution for the only difference; tpms? I am kind of ignorant in the area of ecu's so I don't know why its a big deal. Is it a different circuit board/program than the '06 ecu? ? ?

Honda changed the ECU again? What the sweet merciful crap for? I swear to god, a lot of this K series engine management is ridiculous when GMs and Subarus and what not can flash their software with a $300 tool you plug into the OBDII port.

Hell, I loaded a completely new operating system into the PCM in my GTO in about five minutes in order to read MAP up to 2 bar.

It sucks that Honda just doesn't care about the aftermarket like other OEMs do. Sorry for complaining but it is really, really annoying to have an engine with so much tuning versatility and no way of playing with it. I do give Hondata tons of credit for doing what they can - they get NO help from Honda, whereas companies like Diablosport and Cobb and HP Tuners seem to have OEM engineers working for them on weekends, since they come out with programmers and software for cars before they're even released to dealers.

not sure how much is different, but when i took my switchblade key to a locksmith, he couldn't get his machine to communicate with my car's ecu, even though he had successfully done this for many '06 TSX cars. ok so we got 2!

I've asked about this 3 times and hondata always says they might do it at a later time. They also told me swapping an 06 ecu is impossible because of the new technology in the 07s. I will sign anything you guys wanna send to hondata about the 07s... If I knew they weren't gonna reflash them I'd have waited for the 09s to come out with 240hp.
