1st Mod.

Hey all, i just got my brand new 2006 TSX with navi. I was wondering what my 1st mod should be, im not so much into racing, but making a loud, obnoxious, and smooth sound is on the top of my list. Or should i do something to the outside, such as rims or something? OR should i do something to the interior since im not into competitive racing? And if you have any suggestions, please suggest a brand as well. Thanks alot.

Haha, smooth and obnoxious sounds kind of contradictory. IMO, a good bang for the buck mod would be a Comptech Rear Sway Bar (another brand is fine too), but if you want some roar from the engine, I would say start with an intake first. However if you are committed in being obnoxious, there are many cheap routes that I rather not suggest. Good luck!

The first thing I would do is get the "fart can" mentality out of your head. You're driving a classy sports sedan, not a pea-shootin' Toyota Tercel. Search this board for modification's such as rear sway bar's, exhaust, wheels (not rims), window tint and/or suspension.

I'm not gonna suggest any mod, it's a matter of your priorities and taste. But, I will welcome you to the forum

I would recommend something to protect your investment, like window tinting, clear bra, trunk tray/all weather mats (optional), leather/plastic conditioning, and a good hand wash/wax items.

Speaking of exhausts. Would it be possible to have the TSXs exhaust sound like those on the 350Z or G35 coupe? damn those sound good.

More than likely no. This has been covered before but the sound of your exhaust has a lot to do with the size of your engine and displacement. Thus, 2+ litre's of engine won't sound nearly the same as 3+ litre's of engine with 2 more cylinder's.

Clear Paint Protection film. Get at least a hood kit that covers your fenders and hood. They usually come with the rear view mirrors as well. $200-300. Then--->Tein SS Coilovers. Drop it like it's hot. The stock 4x4 suspension is bad juju. Then wheels, then sounds, then CAI! It makes it sound so good, then....

I agree, but if you have to get something more aggressive sounding, I do think that the muffler design makes a big difference. Stick with an exhaust that has larger canisters, and I think you'd be more likely get a lower/deeper tone. Those N1-style exhausts might give the max performance, but I don't like their whiny sound. The worst one I heard was on an RX-7 -- max. performance or not, I'd have put the stock exhaust back on if I had to listen to that motorcyle-like bumblebee attack!

My first mod might have been a clear bra, followed by replacing the speakers. But like it was said, it's going to be an individual preference, mostly....

3) UP Racing Brake Rotors

I'd so you'd be good if you chooes the K&N or Injen, no complaints from anyone that has those. I think the AEM is SRI only, while both the K&N and Injen can be converted from CAI to SRI

SRI is under the hood, sucks in HOT air. CAI is longer and goes down behind bumper, sucks in COLD air.
