ditto.
Ive been all over the country and on the east and west coast numerous times and i still like it here. Like you said for raising a family and normal everyday life it cant be beat. Good schools, safe, cheap to live, cheap gas (1.70 right now), i can make it anywhere in less than 30 minutes, traffic is nothing compaired to other parts of the country and i like to have open spaces around me. Im still young(24) and there are plenty of clubs, bars, etc i can go to any night of the week. Then i can wake up in the morning and have a 15 minute commute to work. I dont see how some people in other parts of the country think its normal to have a hour plus commute to and from work everyday. Just think about how much more qualiy time you would have with your friends and family if you had two extra hours in your life each day.
Plus ive never really thought the nyc area was that great or a pretty place to live, besides i dont like the idea of paying out the ass to live in a 500 sq foot apartment. With cali, altho pretty and nice weather, expensive gas and ultra long commutes kill it for me. No sense in living in some place pretty when you spend your life at work or trapped in traffic 5 days a week.
If i was going anywhere i would want to live in colorado, mountains, biking, boarding, more realistic commutes and its still not real expensive to live there (ofcourse depending on the area you live in).

I just turned 21 and I bought this car a year ago, and I am still in LOVE with it!!!
I am a full time student, so my little part time job as a teller bought me this car...so I basically saved every until I had enough to pay for half of it...I learned how to budget and establish awsome credit by charging everthing on the CC's and paying them off every month for two years...when I was ready to by my car I looked for the best deal...I was ready to put down 10k with a 720 fico score...found an AT '04 and was able to bring it down to 21K ...I financed the rest with the best interest rate
I was recently promoted Operations Supervisor, so I am no longer a teller

I am a financial manager with the US Air Force, and my wife is a paralegal up here in Anchorage, Alaska. Our gross yearly income comes just shy of $100k. Hopefully it'll go up some soon, but it's still not bad seeing as how I'm 25 and my wife is 24. Alaska's cost of living is expensive, but well worth it!

I dont make as much as many of the people who've posted (its in the 2nd to top category, and I voted accordingly.) But like someone else said, I make enough to afford the payment on a TSX. It's probably more car than I should be rolling according to more conservative financial advice, but then again I'm single, dont have any kids, and live in a place where nice housing can be found even in fashionable neighborhoods if you look. I'm also a tightwad. You wont catch me blowin' a hundy at the bar on saturday night too often.
Actually my student loans are eating up more of my disposable income than the car is right now. (Trying to pay them off ASAP.)

Salary in Oklahoma City OK: $100,000
Comparable salary in New York (Manhattan) NY: $230,900.48
That automatically pops into my mind - anyone making 100k here is doing really well for themselves. BTW, heres what the 200k buys you on 2.5 acres inside the city
*got that from homes.com

I am seeing a trend here. The majority of the TSX owners are very successful in their careers. This makes sense, because if they are intelligent enough to have good jobs, they are certainly intelligent enough to drive the TSX.
I am a service manager at FedEx Ground and make 40,000 a year.
