PS. Move to a small town have only 1 other partner, and do your own billing. You'll make a ton more and only have to work ~7 months out of the year.

Lets say you are making 50k a year
so that's aprox $3000 cash (after taxes, 401k or whatever)
$600 - car payment
$150 - full coverage car insurance
$150 - gas
$1200 - rent
$150 - utilities
$400 - food
= $2500
$350 left for whatever
Not much room for savings...

Example:
$600 - car payment
$100 - full coverage car insurance
$30 - gas
$650 - rent
$30 - utilities
$400 - food
= $1810
Which leaves $1040 out of a take home pay of $2850 per month
This is reasonable for someone living in an apartment with one roommate (or S.O.) living in the DC area making around $50k a year.

Industrial Designer. $ = $100k+
at 24yr old my $ =$27k
sorry to be critical but your salary ranges in your poll could be grouped better to get better data.
eg. 10-20k / 20-40k / 40-60k / 60-80k / 80-100k / 100k +
your poll shows the largest percentage at $51k + because it could be $51k or $102k

Industrial Designer. now = $100k+
me at 24yrs old (industrial designer) = $27k
sorry to be critical but your salary ranges in your poll could be grouped differently to get better data.
eg. $10-20k / 20-40k / 40-60k / 60-80k / 80-100k / $100k +
likely why your poll shows the largest percentage at $51k + because it could be either $51k or $102k
