XM/Nav antenna for 05

XM/Nav antenna for 05
My question is, has anyone ever seen one off of the car or taken it off the car? I really want to put Sirius in the car, but I dont want the antenna exposed. I am wondering if anyone has ever modified the stock antenna to cover another one. The car is non nav, so that is not an issue. I have hidden sat antennas in spoilers and in the rear fascia of a Corvette before, but don't know about this.
And more specifically, is there a hole in the roof underneath the antenna to run a cable into the car?
Thanks

hrm...what i've heard sirius and xm use the same antenna so u might be able to use the old antenna with sirius but im not sure if anyone has done that yet. Other people i know put their antenna in their back windshield over the center speaker adn i heard it works great there.

Antennas Are Different. In Back Window Is Ok If You Dont Have Tint Similar Issue As Gps Antenna And Metallic Tint. Prob Could Hollow Out Casing And Fit Sirius Antenna Inside Xm Case. Also Yes There Is A Hole In Roof For Wire. I Believe 12mm If My Memory Serves Me Correctly Best Bet Is Sirius Adapter Coming Out In A Few Months That Alows Use Of Xm Equipment And Factory Radio Controls.

why do u want to remove it? you'd end up with a hole.. or you mean to replace the OEM antenna with the sirius antenna?
whats the difference anyway between the two satellites? is it worth the trouble?

I want the housing. I want to basically take the colored shell off of the ant. assembly and put a Sirius antenna inside. Then put it all back on the car. I need the hole so I can run the Sirius antenna cable to the Sirius tuner.
Difference is in programming, and in my opinion, yes it is worth it. Many probably would not see it that way, but I like the programming on Sirius a LOT better, but I don't want to see the antenna on the outside of the car.
