Would I be able to cross fit?

GPS from a USDM TSX into my canadian TSX? I know mapping isnt as prominent here in Canada but I often drive down to the states.

I would consider purchasing the gps down south, and have it installed here. (If its possible.)

Thanks
-J

Run a search on "install navi" and you should get some interesting results.

Basically, you are looking at a really complex and expensive installation. Not only will you have to order new parts but the entire center console has to be swapped out. You will have to take apart most of your interior to install all the wiring for the voice command mic, steering wheel controls, and GPS reciever. You may have to rewire the HVAC controls as well.

If my memory serves me right, the SRS controller (not the g-sensors) is located somewhere near/within the center console so think twice before pulling it apart!

The Canadian dealers are unlikely to install it for you as their technicians are probably not trained to do so and therefore cannot honor any warranty on the installation/parts. You may be able to get a US dealer to do it for you; but be forewarned that it will most likely void your Canadian warranty.

You will probably be better served by getting an aftermarket GPS unit such as those sold by Garmin. It's also portable so you can take it with you wherever your travels take you.

Good luck!

(If you do manage to pull it off I can tell you you will be famous overnight!)

The American DVD won't have maps of Canada. It only covers the continental U.S. and only has detailed info about major metropolitan areas.

Just wait for the Canadian navigation version. "Show yaks." "Find nearest igloo."

Does the navi not have any of the border cities in Canada?

Thanks guys. I thought it would have been a straight swap considering all controls are in the center region of the dash. I know there is really no use for canadian maps but I often trip down to the states to visit family and friends.

Thanks again.
