Windshield Wipers

I have to replace my windshield wipers and I was wondering what were the lengths on the wipers? I went to walmart today and the wiper guide wasn't much help... For the 2004 Acura TSX is said it didn't have a driver side wiper and it said it had a rear windshield wiper... lol... Well, I went with 24" for the driver side and 16" for the passenger side... does that sound about right? Sorry for asking a question

I think it's 26" for the drivers side and 16" for the passenger side.

... or a tape measure?

... or know how to do a search? post #8 (16" and 26")

How old are your windshield wipers?

I've had mine since last October and during the winter I went to the dealership to get them replaced. The guy said "before I sell you new inserts, let me just try cleaning them with rubbing alcohol to see if it helps. If it doesn't work, I'll give you new ones for free".

He cleaned them and sure enough, they worked like new and I haven't had any reason to complain for the last few months. I cleaned them with alcohol myself a couple of times since too.

I bought the refills from walmart, the passenger and driver are different size refills. Most cars use the same refill size, but the TSX doesn't. I think I bought a B and D. I could check when I get home later.

I replaced mine after a year and a half. Mine pretty much ripped.

By far the best thing you can do is to go to your dealer and get the replacement inserts for your factory wipers. They cost about $6 and they'll be as good as when you first got your car.

I bought my car in Aug. 2004 so its coming up to a year now... never had to replace my wiper yet... but I'll definatelly try cleaning them with some alcohol first to see if that works... its been raining a lot lately so getting my wipers up to par again is a must... if all else fails, I'll get those inserts from the dealer

Oh, another thing that may help is to use RainX..........the wipers glide, when ya need them!! With the RainX and driving fast, I don't use the wipers as much. Plus I wear the yellow rain glasses when it's raining. Helps a bunch to see the traffic.

They also make an orange wiper fluid which works pretty well.
