Windshield Wiper blades update - FRUSTRATED!

Hi guys,

So, I'm having a really hard time finding DECENT windshield wiper blades that actually fit my 07 TSX with Navi. I have tried the replacement rubber inserts for my OEM blades, but I'm still getting the awful chattering and loud sound while the wipers swipe across the windshield. I tried cleaning the windshield really well, and I've also tried Aqualpel. Still, no success...

So, I ordered some PIAA Hybrid Forza's from Tirerack, and upon delivery, I noticed that the passenger side wiper blade was hanging over the windshield frame, so I sent them back.

I then got some BOSCH ICON's, which work great, but my passenger side 16" blade is rubbing up against the rubber windshield frame, which is kind of concerning me...

Where do I go from here? Does Acura have any OEM wiper blades (not inserts) out that are updated from the ones that came stock on my 07 TSX? If so, where can i purchase these at?

Thanks much!

Jeff

You are in luck. Acura has a new TSB for the windshield wiper issue. Take your car to the dealership and bring the TSB linked i the thread below.

Awesome! I will have to print this TSB and show it to the dealership at my next service visit. I'm currently using the Bosch ICON's, but I will switch back to my OEM blades when I take the car in.

Any idea if you can order these blades online anywhere? I'm just curious what they're retailing for..

No, I was referring to the new blade assembly, not just the insert. Basically, what will the new OEM TSB replacements cost, and can you purchase these online anywhere?

if you are lucky the dealer will not charge you. Lets just say I was lucky.
by the way the original OEM passenger blade touches the molding.

My dealer automatically replaces mine every 30k with OEM wipers, as part of the services. I've never had a problem with my wipers (I have an 04). I know the wipers were changed for 06 and up though, and it seems more people have had problems with those ones than 04-05 models.

Your OEM passenger blade touches the molding in the resting state (turned off position)?

Interesting.... My OEM blade had about an inch between the end of the passenger blade and the windshield molding. However, the PIAA Forza Hybrid's hung over the molding about an inch, and the Bosch Icon's rest up against the molding when the blades are in the "off" position.

I was kind of concerned about the long-term damage that the aftermarket blades might cause constantly resting and hitting the side molding when they're turned off, but I suppose if yours have been doing it with the OEM blades since your car was new, and you haven't had any kind of significant damage, I am probably ok. I guess I'll just stick with my Bosch Icon blades then since they're a huge improvement over the OEM blades IMHO!

Have you noticed any wear and tear on the rubber molding where the blade hits/rests?

I still have the original OEM blades on my car-they are still in great condition- The dealer did order the replacement ones (per the TSB) the last time I was there for service. They are holding on to them until the next time I get there. There is no wear on the molding wear the blade rests (it is not that much). My car now has 107K miles. It is garage kept.

The TSB shows the honda part number for the new wiper assembly set (left and right). You can find them online now as the parts database has been updated at most online acura parts retailers. Last time I looked, the pair sold for about $40.00 before shipping/tax. Local dealerships will probably charge you much more
