Window tinting for $150 with 3 yr warranty a good deal?

I'm going to get a 35% tint on my SSM this weekend, is that a good deal?

Do I really need moleskin? how much would it cost with that added?

prices depend on your location, compared to here its a good price. as far as moleskin, yes you need it, and you need to contact the installer for pricing.

My front left window tint has scratches now, but the others don't. So it really depends on if the inside of the weather strip gets dirty. Unluckily for me, mine did and now I have vertical scratches. I can't find anyone who installs the moleskin so I'm just going to replace the front left tint some day.

$150 w/ 3 year warranty? I paid $210 with lifetime warranty. What type of tint material? I have Llumastar which is awesome and doesn't effect the Navi or my radio.

Can anyone recommend a first-class tint installer in the Orlando area?

I want to have my TSX tinted, but every tint job I have had in the past has resulted with undesirable consequences such as scratched panels, warped weather stripping, etc. – unfortunately, its left me traumatized

Thanks,
Cedric

hmmm, we had some guy come here n two two cars and some windows in the house. he did a pretty good job all by hand. i noticed tho that there are very tiny air bubbles, and the only wany i noticed it was becuase i am very anal about how my car is.
that and he doesnt offer any sort of warrenty, i told him about the scratches and hes like well i didnt know about mole skin until after the fact and some other bs. but its not hard to put it, i did it.
i did hear that theres a place in oviedo thats susposed to be pretty good.. audio excellence. its a store so they cant exactly run off or not asnwer the phone or anyhitng, and they also i think offer a warrenty.

if you do use them let mne know if you like it, becuase our next car will need the windows done and i wanna try someone else

There is a guy in Sarasota that is awesome! His name is Donny. He owns "In the Dark wondow tinting. #941-685-5882. Flawless work!

As for the price of tints....it varies. Here in WA the average price for a TSX runs over $300. Back in Sarasota, FL I would charge about $175 including the windshield visor strip. Add another $35 for the sunroof, but up here in WA it is almost exactly double the price. Most places give a lifetime warranty (for as long as you own the vehicle). Good luck!

I install Madicco on all my cars. It is thicker than 3M. 3M just has the name to back it up. I like Madicco better. Thats why I choose it, not because of price.

Yes, you do want the moleskin.

If you do a search, you will find a person who sells packages of moleskin for TLs that is enough for the TSX. He sent me instructions for installing the moleskin but did not have that for opening the door panel of the TSX. The latter, I assume, your tint installer will know how to do. Have him affix it to both rubber gaskets that come into contact with the inner surface of the window.

BTW, the pack of moleskin was ~$30.

Good luck.

I gotta ask...I have installed window tint for a few years now and have never had a customer request moleskin. What is the problem and why would I need moleskin on my TSX? I haven't tinted mine yet and just wonder what the deal is with the mole skin. If your window is being scratched when yuo roll it up or down there must be a problem with your original factory seals on the inside. I have never had to put moleskin on any car I tinted.

I have llum' with lifetime warranty. I paid $180 for the five windows and to tint my visor. I didn't get moleskin, in fact, I've never heard of it 'till now.
The good thing about the warranty is that it covers scratches and if I get a ticket for tints and have to remove my fronts, they just charge $20 to redo the tint...

TRUE!

You can...it's just not legal. There are usually little black marks at the top corners about 6-8 inches down on the sides....that's as far as you are aloud to tint down to.

If you see a new car commercial with a car sitting on a big white set....they usually have the entire windshield tinted. It's just for advertisement. It's not legal!

However....If you throw a 50-65% tint on the windshield you can hardly tell it's there. Very few tint shops will do it for you. But that on top of limo/5% all around will barely allow you to see your knuckles on the steering wheel from the outside. It's pimp! But not recomended!

I am the one who sells the Mole skin for the TL.

It is the same product for the TSX but I don't have the instructions on how to take off the door panels.

Everything else will be the same though. I am still looking for a donor TSX so I can take pictures of the install.

Order below.

I am at UGA, so I got it done here in Athens, Acura recommended this guy. He does all the new Bimmers, Benzes, Audis, Jags, Volvos, and Acuras in town. He did my roomate's A4 and my TSX. Did an amazing job.... took off my door panels, no damage, and installed the new moleskin. It might be worth the drive over.

While you are here, go downtown eat at East West or Last Resort and enjoy the greatest bar scene on the face of the earth not to mention one of Maxim magazine's highest rated student female populations. God I love this town!

you can go to micheals or any craft store n buy it for like acouple bucks a sheet. or strips too, i bought the sheet and used a razor blade to cut it, much more customized beucase the top flap is larger than the bottom (or maybe it was vice versa) it was like an 8th of an inch difference.

If you find out let me know, I'm attempting to find a dealer in Chicagoland for our TSX too. None of the places I've call know what moleskin is, I may need order it on ATSX and just have the shop install it with the tint.

BTW you can have any tint you want in Chicago % wise, but it's illegal to have anything on the front windows. I know I'm going to do 20% on all the rear doors and glass, not sure what I will do for the fronts if anything yet.

Just FYI, I think the warranty on tinting has to do with what the tint is made out of. I have Metallic tint which has a lifetime warranty because it will never fade because it does not contain any dye. Tints that contain dye usually will have a shorter warranty because the tint will fade like when you see those ugly purple looking tints on cars.

i dont seem to notice it, i think the tint actually helps prevent most of the glare i get. and the rest is done by the auto mirror

Haven't tinted the TSX yet, but I have 20% on the rear window in my Accord and that really helped reduce the glare and headlights at night. My Accord is lowered and F250-350's would just kill my eyes. The tints awesome, don't even need to adjust the mirror.

Maybe your tint has basically turned off your auto dimming mirror feature, you sould have gotten darker tint

the tint does throw off the auto dimming feature. if ure really anal about it, get some dark tape and cover up the front sensor, ive stuck paper up there to cover it when during the day in the rain some idiot was tail gating me with his brights on
