Window Tint Correction in Calif.

Few years ago when I got a window tint ticket, I had it signed off. Then mailed it back to the court with the $10 fee, and that was it. Recently, I had a window tint ticket and I got it signed off already. I mailed it to the court with the $10 fee, but the damn court mailed it back to me saying that I need a stamp along with the signature. Is this new? Howard911s, can you shed some light in this?

you supposed to find a PARKED cop, have him verify that you did have the tint removed and signed off. This is how it's always been. i think you got off lucky the first time.

What are you talking about "got off lucky the first time"? I did the correct thing. I removed the tint, took the car to either Sheriff or CHP station. Have them verified, then the ticket was signed off. I mailed the signed ticket with the $10 fee to the court. That was it. But this time the court requires a freaking stamp in addition to the signature.

what kind of stamp is it?

when I had my civic, I went to CHP down in socal 605fwy near the 5fwy and they signed off my tint ticket. Here's what they did...

1. I walked in...showed 'em my ticket.
2. They asked is the tint taken off? I said Yes.
3. The officer at the desk look at my ticket, signed it then took some stamp he had and stamped it. The stamp shows the station number and address of the CHP office.

So i'm not sure if that is the stamp the court wants.

Are all tint tickets just fix-it tickets? if the cop is really anal, would he be able to give you a full blown moving violation ticket or something?

Sorry, can't help with anything. Never had a ticket before =P

That's probably the stamp that the court is looking for. In the past, they just signed at the box on the back of the ticket. That was it. I guess this is a new thing.
