[QUOTE=NocturnalTSX]Domn: hmm.. you're right. Once i make up my mind, i'll have to go place an order ASAP.
MOMOTL: What problems did your friends have w/the Audi's? I am going to research more into those problems As for the other suggestions you mentioned.. The TL and RL are great cars, but I kinda wanna get away from Honda's, my last 2 cars were honda's.
The WRX/STi, again great cars, but i'm not too crazy about their exterior styling. Infiniti G35/350Z, great cars, but again not my choice of styling heh. Mazda RX-8, i dont know what it is, but it doesn't really grab my attention.
Here is some of the problems my friend's A4 has encountered within 1yr:
1) Transmission problem (Grinding when engaging into gears)
2) Computer (Check Engine lights came on 7 times during the course of only 1yr)
3) Burning oil (Had to dump 2litre of oil every 2.5months)
4) Sound system speakers did not work twice
5) Radiator cracked
6) Some minor issues such as rattles/PowerSunRoof making noise when opening&closing.
Hope that helps dude!!!! What a coincidence that BOTH of my friends had problems with this car. Highly would not recommend this car unless you are prepare to face some real headaches.

-Acura TL or new RL
Powerful? Yes. Luxurious? Yes. More potential to mod? No. He wants to mod cars. The TL or RL are not for him.
-Subaru WRX STI
He's lookin at an Evo, which IMHO is a more mature looking package than the WRX. While it's still a boy racer car, it doesn't look as tinny as a WRX.
-Infiniti G35c or Nissan 350Z
Same story as TL or RL. Easier to mod, but still not quite as easy as a Euro luxo car.
-Mazda RX-8
Not terribly powerful. I don't know of too many mods for them. Same story as TSX. More cars out there that can give him more power.
Nocturnal, I like your list. Though, like others have mentioned, you should look into a Certified Pre-Owned M3. Maybe an S4? What do you think of the C32, or previous-gen C43? I know that Kleemann and Renntech do a lot for Benz.

i love my cls...yeah it's a FWD and doesn't handle as well as the tsx does, or the other cars on his list, but slap on a tein suspension kit and you should be fine...cls does have a lot more mod potential than many think..there are some on the acl forum pushing 350 whp..i think allmotor is pushing close to 400. i don't know how powerful of a car you want but 400 whp is ridiculous for a car of our caliber..not to mention the 6 speed is an awesome car to drive..however i cannot deny the fact that it is discontinued (unfortunately)..if the cl-s isn't your type of car (which i don't see why it wouldn't)..i would go for the 1.8t..or maybe a used '00 s4..i got raped by a modded one so badly i wanted to drive my car off of a freeway bridge..those turbos can be turned into some serious monsters
btw..my friend has a new black tsx and i was wondering what mods you were selling..he will probably be very interested

if you want a car that has a lot of after market stuff for modding go with an EVO, WRX, or WRX-STi,
with less than $$$ you can bump up the whp by 50 to 100 hp. just by replacing the entire exhaust will increase your hp. if you are looking for a daily commuter car the suspension on the EVO is stiffer than the Subarus. My best advise to you is test drive each cars (if they will let you test drive an EVO or STi). I test drove an EVO but it wasn't comfy for a daily commuter, the suspension on the STi is stiff but still comfy for a daily commuter.

Yea thas what I figure, for little money, i can make either one of those cars u mentioned into very fast cars. But they have no comfort, the EVO especially. I'm looking past the WRX and STi, simply cz I can't see myself driving them. I want a car w/some more comfort tho.
I've been doing a lot of research into the Audi A4 1.8T Quattro. It looks really promising. APR is releasing a turbo upgrade (stage 3) kit for it in 3 months, which will bump up the power to 350-400hp (about 290-300whp). Estimated quarter mile times are high 12's to very low 13's. Not bad for a 3406lb car. After that, there's all the european luxury too

sounds like there's some severely flawed logic at the core of this thread. nocturnal wants more power, but cannot mod his TSX to acheive that without spending a lot of cash. so instead, he wants to trade it in (losing A TON of cash) and buy another car that can be cheaply modded. so...
option 1:
keep the TSX, spend a few thousand on mods -> fast car for $$$
option 2
trade in the TSX, buy new car, spend a bit less on mods -> fast car for $$$
sounds like he just wants a new car.

Talking about mods, can't wait to see what Hondata will do for the K24. They claim an improvement of 1s for the 0-60mph in a Si.

You must be talking about the E36 (which you probably are given the age range you gave) the E46 has a MUCH nicer interior (materials and fit and finish wise) though design is subjective and could be argued either way.

Car did very well. Driver said the rear is too loose for his tastes, but was overall quite happy with the car.
In addition to the rear spolier is has a vortex generator across the top of the rear window where the antenna is. plus the new aluminum roof has small speed rails across it.
I was impressed and Ive ridden in many EVOS.
My pref is still the STi out of these two personally. But that is me.

Not that it matters much, but I would go with the a4 1.8t...turbochargers rule, and those things will haul once you get an upgrade kit...just make sure you get the suspension and brakes to keep up. Plus, they just look so "euro" and chicks always dig 'em. Performance, w/ comfort and stye to boot.
Aren't they coming out with the a4 with the redesigned nose? I would wait for that so you dont blend in with everyone else on the road, at least for a while

A little while ago I was TOTALLY considering that car, but the thing is, to get it exactly where I want it to be, would cost waaaaaaaaaayyy too much money. So for now, I decided to go with the EVO, because its very easy and fairly cheap to mod.

I think the new 3 series is the nicest of the bangled designs.

Yes I did
2004 Lancer Evolution (regular)
in Weightless White with the leather/sunroof/and sound package.
You may notice the strange license plates, but thats because I had to transfer the plates over from the TSX to the EVO. I still gotta come up w/something for the EVO. Any suggestions?
Anyways.. enjoy the pics

Yes that is the standard spoiler, and the black part in the middle is carbon fiber
As for $$$, it came out to $31,500
Not a bad price at all, considering it has the leather/sunroof/and sound package compared to what others paid on the EVO forums.

Nope, its built in Japan.
I'm going to try and limit myself to how much I mod it, basically I just wanna keep it as a daily driver thats pretty quick and handles real well. But I don't know for how long I can keep myself from going all out hehe..
