Dom, are you talking about yourself, or quoting someone else? (couldnt find anyone who you would have quoted).

I'm really spolied. My Dad promised to buy my intake and rims by the summer and my mom promised me the lowering springs.
All joking aside, I paid for the car myself and I paid for my two previous cars myself as well (98 GS-R when I was 21 and 2000 Civic Si when I was 23)
But I have no problem whatsoever with parents buying their 16 or 17 or whatever year old kids a car. If you have the money to spend on your child then why not? Now if that kid turns into a idiot because of the car then thats another story. But then thats bad parenting is'nt it? If your lucky enough to be in a TSX at 17 then good for you, just be responsible about it.
Now parents buying their 16 years olds sports cars can be less than a good idea, but if they can afford it and the insurance then god bless.
I wish I was given a sports car when I was 16. Instead I was bought a used Mazda 4x4 pickup truck. 1 Speeding ticket in 5 years of driving it.

i had my TSX on may 20th or 2003. a week before i turned 16. could be the youngest complete owner i suppose. i paid for half of it, which was pretty much all funds ive ever saved. i couldnt be happier about owning it. being 16 with this car makes alot of middle age men angry, on the road almost every mini van wants to race. i happen to be fortunate in my position, and thankful.

Man, you teenagers are very lucky to be driving a TSX as your first car!
I am 37 now and I didn't get my first car until I graduated college in 1987 at the age of 21. My parents had bought be a piece of shit Dodge Aries K car. One of the worst cars ever made. That thing had tons of things wrong with it too. Brakes didn't work well, water would pour onto my foot from the airconditioner when making a turn off an exit ramp, the horn would go off when I touched the turn signal, the only speaker was this jury rigged bookshelf speaker that sat in between the driver and the passenfer. Holy christ that car was a piece of crap. But it was a gift from my parents who didn't know any better. (sigh)
Then a few years later I traded it in for a used Ford Tempo.
Then in late 1991 I bought my first new and great car all by myself... a 1991 Honda Prelude. That was a great car that lasted me until I traded it in for the TSX in April 2003.
You young lucky punks. :P

same here.
TSX is my first brand-new car - cars for me were always just transportation from A to B.
Those of you whose parent bought it should show your parents something that shows you earn it/appreciate it.
