The majority of "new car smell" comes from different plastic parts. It is actually not very good for your health.

I think its more of a leather smell than the plasticizer epoxy in the plastics smell.

Look at my Post # 13...people are choosing to ignore something they don't want to hear lol.

From the posts here, I'm thinking that they're just talking about the smell of the stuff they used on their car. Notice how many of the posts are saying that the smell comes back after they detail their car....

Other people who smell the car probably attribute the detailer smell for new car smell

Anyone care to describe the difference among the "new car smell", "leather smell" and "detailer smell" in words?

4 months and 5k later I dont smell a thing. I dont smoke, have pets, sweat or anything gross in cars, dont even eat.

My nose has zoned out whatever new car smell it had.

I just use a playtex glove. I put Z directly on the glove, and work it in. This way, I don't lose any on the applicator, and I get a better feel for where it goes because it's on my fingers. I have to say it's hard to tell the diff between the Z smell and the new car smell. Maybe that's the way the Z people designed it.

I can't smell it anymore but all my friends say they still smell it after a year and half with 32K miles. my advice is be careful what you bring inside the cabin esp. asian food. I learn that lesson with my protege...

got trash bags to seal the take out curry

i suspect the new car smell comes from the trunk that is not separated from the car with a normal steel bulkhead. the new car smell might be the temp spare tire

have no use for fold down seats and like a real spare tire on a 5th rim not gonna happen

once i had my car washed at bubbles car wash (i think that's what it's called). they asked which air freshner i wanted and i tried the "new car" scent. it was horrible...my girlfriend wouldn't even get in my car after that.
