What's the vent near the ignition do?

Anyone notice that little round grille on the dashboard. It's right on the silver trim next to the ignition and the steering column? Any idea what that is?

Nope -- According to my dealer, Poltergeist is right. It's the sensor for the climate control. He said that it used to be located in the center console, in a horizontal configuration, but there were problems caused by beverage spills there.

The mic is located up near the rearview mirror.

I guess this naturally leads to the question of how a dual zone climate system can rely on a single temp sensor? Is there a second one hidden on the passenger side?

It is not a true dual zone setup that uses separate fans and sensors for each side of the car. Instead, it probably simply bases it on a relative calculation. So, for instance, the driver's side temperature is 72 and the passenger side is at 75 and the internal temperature sensor is reporting 75 degrees, the computer knows that the passenger side air needs to be adjusted to absorb a little more heat from the exchanger before passing through the vents.

Read the manual guys...we also have a sensor up near the windshield to determine direct sunlight and heat. Ever wonder why sometimes the automatic climate control switches between outside air and inside circulation? That's the other sensor doing its work.
Everyone else is correct. The cabin sensor is on the dash near the ignition and the mic. for the nav/bluetooth is up, forward of the map lights.
