I'm insured at "Federation" via an insurance broker.

I have 2 cars insured and a home insurance (the NSX is not covered there).

I haven't lost any points in 7 years nor had accidents.

Drop me a note if you need more info.
Looks good. Are you the one who lives in or close to St-Jerome?

I'm 24 living in north jersey in Hoboken. I have Geico and I pay about $2500 for the year with $750 deductibles. It is funny because I've fished for quotes from other providers like liberty mutual and metlife and they quoted about $4500 to $5000 a year? LOL. You must be crazy. Thank goodness for Geico.

I can also get NJM insurance because of where I work...but they are so strict, I'm afraid i'll get turned down. For those who signed up for NJM, one of their stipulations is to have been continuously insured for 3 years... Did they actually ask you to provide proof?

Well, I applied for NJM and I got turned down. The company I work for is also affiliated with NJM. Since I have 2 tickets in the last 3 years I figured I would apply anyway. Bastards turned me down!

Now I'm paying $2300.00 a year thanks to Liberty Mutual. It's alot better than $4000.00. That's how much my previous insurance (NJ Cure) company wanted to charge me for my new TSX since I only got the car Friday (march 4). I'm 27 and NJ sucks!!!!

Question about rates in TO

Hey guys,

I am currently living in Austria but plan to move back to Toronto in a couple of years. Since you are talking about insurance rates I have a question. I filled out some online quote thingies and they give me more than 5500 CAD per year for a car like the TSX or TL. Now, I never owned a car myself, never got a ticket either or had any accidents. I usually drive rental cars. What would my chances be of getting a better deal? It kinda scares me to think of paying more for insurance than for the lease rate...

Thanks for your help,
Romendo

$960/year with $300 deductible and 50k/100k coverage.

I recomend switching to Wawanesa insurance. They dont advertise very much and get 90% of their business from referrals. I called around a bunch of places and Wawanesa was $500/yr cheaper than anywhere I could find. I have already made two claims with them and my rates never went up...they were very minor claims though.

if it was that easy I would have been there already but I doubt that it would have made a huge difference with two minor and one major tickets on my record.

I'm paying $2,340/year in Philadelphia area. Mind you it was $2,940 in December cause I was uninsured. I'm over 25 with one non fault accident and 1 speeding ticket. Geico

I'm 23, perfect record, and I pay $1700 w/ Geico. Are you under your parent's plan, not driving a TSX, anything else, etc? I want to know how you're getting $1200.

State Farm, i'm not under my parents plan, however even though i've graduated from college, they are giving me the student discount, but i can't imagine that makes that much of difference? but i don't know. I had state farm when i was still under my insurance and when i went to get my own, i got quotes from Gieco and other places and they were all much higher than state farm for some reason

I think I called State Farm last time I reupped to get a quote and they gave me one that was $2200/yr w/ minimal information. Geico wont give me student discount any longer, but they were far away cheaper than anyone else would quote me.

What part of NOVA are you from?

$1450 under my father's plan with Met Life Auto.

It will go up though if my speeding ticket doesn't get reversed.

This sounds a lot more like NJ rates than some other people have been claiming. I pay ~$1500 for my TSX with NJM, but I'm also 5 years younger. We also get a check in the mail at the end of the year from NJM! I think the people who claim to pay $500 a year in NJ must live in deep south jersey.

I was quoted at $2400/year on my own. So I just got myself added to my parents policy, that's only about $800/year.

We pay CAD$2500/yr for 3 vehicles. $500 deductible, $2 mil liability. Full collision & comp on 2 cars, liability only on the third (winter beater). I have a clean record and no claims, my wife - ummm.... doesn't.

Worcester (city) Massachusetts here. $1500 a year, and I'm a 9 point safe driver, which is the safest you can go in this state.

If I lived outside of Worcester I would pay about $1000/year.

This is through AAA, who uses Commerce Insurance Co. up here.
