I am kinda new here, I sold my S2000 for my TSX...but anyways I was wondering how many of you guys/gals have the 6 spd? I myself have an auto just because I thought resale value would be worse due to the sedan part...but I really like the car!

6 Speed as well. But if you're worried about resale value, I think you could use the excuse that since the TSX cost is the same for both AUTO and 6SPD, therefore the resale value should be the same as well. Anyhow, welcome and enjoy your new ride!!!

I believe this poll is culturally biased....

Seriously, though. The percentage that you'll get on here is much higher than what you'll see in real life since only "enthusiasts" are inclined to want to talk to other owners. And enthusiasts tend to like MTs more than the average folk.

Edit: The poll right now: 22 MTs, 4 ATs. See?

especially when you start to talk about the ranks of "luxury sedans" - the % of MT is going to be pretty low (~10%).

I thought the poll would be interesting since domn made this comment last week:

So far it looks like he might have underestimated that 70% figure.

When the AT and MT sell for the same price and the AT gets better fuel economy then there's really no reason for a non-enthusiast to get an MT. That's not to say that an enthusiast couldn't buy an AT but most would buy an MT.

Non-enthusiasts could care less about our website unless they have a problem and are looking for advice so it's not surprising that the MT transmissions are leading this poll.

I'm surprised by these results. I thought it would be closer to 50/50 on the board.

Maybe the title is scaring away the AT drivers?

Edit: Title changed. Let's see if that makes a difference...

The reason for this skewed result: all the MT owners are also PWs.

5AT. My company made me do it.

That said, the 5at is smooth, and you do have the ability to "play" at having a manual, which I have used, from time to time.

LOL! I voted for auto! I bought an auto for other driver in the family. ie wife Auto drivers and MT dirivers can live and play together peacefuly as long as auto drivers do not start saying " auto is faster than mt " to MT dirvers!

If we move this to general TSX Talk, maybe you would get a "more fair" sampling. Anyone object?

Well it would be true for a 7Gmatic equiped E class MB vs. 6MT (available in Europe).

5AT for 2 reasons: 1) wife can't drive stick and this is our only car, 2) work in downtown Seattle = traffic plus hills make MT tiresome for me
