5AT - my commute made me do it. Only after this past week of a new job do I really appreciate the lack of a clutch. I just wish I had one on weekends!

Yeah.... Whenever I drive an AT car, I always find myself stomping on an imaginary clutch pedal when I come to a stop.

Learned to drive with my left foot while my right foot was recovering from reconstructive surgery (long story). Only time I was truly glad for at. Felt wierd to translate impulse motion to my left foot, and I did get the two pedals confused every now and again.

First time I drove left-footed was in a pig Lincoln Town Car out of LAX to South Orange County, leaving the airport at about 4:00 AM my body's time after a crosscountry flight with no stops, hitting the freeway just about the time the bars let out, I guess........ made me glad for the sheet metal tank I was in.

So because its not a sports car or racing car we should choose convinience over performance? TSX is targeted to people who want some sport in their sedan. So unless there is good reason not to get an MT (wife, mostly downtown driving, missing left leg, etc) the choice is easy for those who want to get the most out of their car.

I do that quite a bit when switching between my Solara and TSX

How about one that says "I'm so insecure that I constantly need to remind people that I drive an MT"

5AT. Mom wanted to drive the car along with my dad and I, and my dad objects to 6MT's in sedans. If it were my choice it'd be a tough one because I'd try to save the MT for an s2k or g35 coupe .

6MT for me. My dad and mom both know how to drive stick and they knew all I wanted in any car was a MT, my dad wanted to buy me an RSX-S because he liked it as a car for him on the weekends and for me during the week but my mom demanded 4 doors.

lol

That's more polite than t-shirts along the line of "BMW drivers like having power in the rear." (insert favorite manufacturer... instead of BMW you crazies!)

I got manual, traded in my civic and i said to myself, "never gettin' an auto anymore." As a driving enthusiast, i find driving a manual car is way funner than an auto even when equipped with tiptronic, the feel just isn't the same.

This is the first AT I've ever owned in 30+ years of buying cars. My last car, a BMW 318ti, was bought when I had a fantastic 14 mile commute on a twisty, hilly backroad with farms and estates lining it. I looked forward to driving to work. Now I drive in traffic on straight roads and freeway for 18 miles. No hills (except for bridges), and no curves to speak of. This area is flat, featureless, and boring as far as driving is concerned. The AT just fits my current driving requirements better. Still, I do sometimes miss the involvement and responsiveness of a stick. The TSX provides lots of fun when I can enjoy it, and lots of comfort when I can't. Sounds like a good compromise to me.

The AT really is about comprise. Since most of the buyers of this car are just going to be using it for basic transportation, the AT will be more popular. I love driving MT, but I had to get AT because my brother doesn't drive MT. The car is supposed to go to him, but we'll see. Either way, the car is still fun to drive.
