What should i do to my car?

Got my 2006 acura tsx about a year ago.. but I think I wanna start making it look better..without breaking the bank. Any small tips, or recommended brands (for things like springs, rims, etc)? Thanks!

Imo tinting the tails or headlights look like shit, but that's just me.

You can always paint the chrome on your grill to match your body paint.

Trunk lip spoiler is also cheap and looks nice.

If you're looking to drop your car a bit, Buddy Club N+ is a popular coilover kit. I would do a little search though. Some people think they're too soft.

Are you just looking for exterior mods?

I would go for:

-Tint
-Rims (17 inch or 18 inch)
-lip or wing spoiler

Later:
-Suspension
-RSB
-Brakes rotors (drilled and/or slotted)
-Exhaust
-Mugen front grill

Much later:
-body kit (like a-spec or mugen)
-header
-Intake
-Hondata

Suspension is usually something that people cheap out on. Though a quality setup is somewhat expensive, it is worth it. I would suggest that rather than spending a little bit here and there, you save and purchase a quality setup. It's harder to be patient, but it is so very worth it.

These are two of the easiest, most affordable performance upgrades. I'd do them first.

Sage advice.

I put the Acura A-spec dampers on, $625 shipped, $150 or so for a pro to install, and well worth it. Good ride, great cornering, and a 1" drop or so. (A member here wisely said, "It's all about the ride and handling, the drop is just a bonus," or words to that effect.)

A Progress RSB is a good way to remove understeer, but be sure your driving skills are up to the change. The A-spec + RSB change makes the car track like a maglev, I wouldn't drive it fatigued or distracted.

I was thinking 2006acuratsx wanted to improve the look first and performance second. I started outside with my TSX and I still have a stock powertrain.

I know. I personally think it's a bit silly to spend 1000s of $s on the looks, before correcting a few performance issues so the car can operate at its peak. You can do Hondata and a RSB for less than a set of new tires, let alone all the exterior gewgaws one can buy.

I don't need to impress anyone with my car's looks, I only need to know its capabilities and value myself. YMMV.

Before anyone gets their underpants bunched up in a wad, please note my statement that this is my personal taste, and yours will vary.

BTW, HeelToe has (or had, last time I looked) some used Mugen wheels and Hankook tires for a song.

Just shows how opinions differ-I personally go for how well the car looks and keeping up on it's maintenance. I do not think it needs anything to improve it's performance. It is not a race car-I just love to drive it.

The TSX is an excellent car and I will keep mine until the wheels fall off.

I could spend $5,000 to $8,000 on performance and I will only have the ability to bearly keep up with a used V-6 Nissan Altima costing $10,000 less at the end of the day. The TSX offers pretty good performance in its stock form. I can beat any car on the road (as long as they don't know I'm racing them).

I get more enjoyment when folks say: "What year is your car? It still look brand new." or "My 2 year old car does not look as good as your +5 year old car".

"Sometimes it is better to look good than to feel good." (Billy Crystal as Fernando, SNL)

Good advice mrgold! haha I got the tint, rims, spoiler, exhaust, and suspension done. Looking for a mesh grille and some visors now.

I was looking to get my car tinted as one of the first upgrades but it turns out tinting is not legal in Pennsylvania. So double check your laws first before spending the money on a tint job
