What is the fastest that you have gone in AT in TSX in KM/H??

I have the 05 TSX with AT transmission and the fastest that I have gone is
190 km/h thus far in sport shift 4th gear revving about 4500 rpm's...

What is the top speed that you guys have reached for all of you who have the TSX on AT Transmission?

190km/h @ 4th gear? So we can achieve higher speed with 5th gear? I still trying to baby the TSX so I haven't try it yet. But my old Camry hit top speed 192km/h w/ 4th gear (highest gear), and it takes like 3minz to get up there.~

I think it depends on how aggresively you drive the car...i heard that if you baby the car alot and don't drive fast often..then the car won't go fast when you want it to.

Somebody at Acura told me that the car adapts to the way you drive and that it learns so to speak to go faster if you are more aggressive with the car... if you are always going the speed limit...then you can't expect the car to go really fast like 160Km/h + when you want it to...it just doesn't work that way...it has to be driven at that speed a few times before it can go higher... or so that is my understanding.. and it kinda makes sense...it kinda trains the car to go faster.. ...you must crawl before you can walk..and walk before you can run right? ..

I've hit 139 mph / 140 mph (224 kmh) in my 04 AT in 4th gear.

Probably could have went faster, but I didn't want to push it. I've also taken a big curve going about 120 mph. That was a nice rush, but it just ate up my tires. I don't drive that fast anymore though. Got a speeding ticket a couple of weeks ago 65 mph in a 55 zone

I almost hit 200MPH one night in the TSX when I was racing a 911 turbo being driven by a monkey in red overalls. Then I woke up and realized it was all a
dream.

I think the fastest I have gone is about 150kph. Im to worried about cops and dont really know a good road where I could go faster.

I have a question for everyone though. This might sound dumb I might add,...but anyway. What is the fastest way to accelerate in the TSX with the manual tranny? In my old car (92 nissan) the power was between 3000 and 5000rpms, so redlining it (around 6k) was pointless because it simply ran out of breath after about 5k. If one wanted to accelerate as fast as possible, should they be taking the TSX up to redline before a gear change? Slightly before redline?

Also, I have found that changing gears very quickly results in a jerk when the clutch is engaged while accelerating quickly. I think this is because when you push in the clutch the car holds the revs very briefly before they start to fall. In a theoretical situation like above where you wanted to be accelerating as fast as possible,........is it better to shift as quick as you can (of course), but is the jerk causing wear on clutch/synchro parts? I have found that if I just slow my shifting a little when accelerating harder (ex onto an empty hwy for fun) the gear change is smooth. Its not like I ever need to accel as fast as possible etc with lightning fast gear changes, but I was wondering about this. In my old car I could change gears as quick as I wanted and the gear change would always be smooth. I think it was a matter of changing so fast that the revs were not down as the exact right point but the syncrhos matched the speeds well since they were not far off. Is it because the TSX has more power or revs higher,........or simply a matter of how it holds the revs for that brief moment?

Thanks if anyone can answer my questions,........I guess they kind of sound silly.

I thought there was a cliff and terminal velocity (220mph) involved with this one, but then you said it was a dream.

130 mph on my last trip to Orange County. It takes forever, and the tachometer starts wavering at the upper RPMs of 4th gear, like it won't go past 6k rpms very strongly. All stock too. Was the 145 mph run in a stock?

Wrong. I usually drive very conservatively, but when I drag race with the car, or even when I went for a top speed number, the car was available for it.

That was probably me. Kurt Bradley also has reached this speed regularly. But we both have/had a 6MT, and mine is definitely bone stock.

I don't believe the AT could get up to that speed though.

AT and the fastest I've gone (not by choice) was 120MPH (195kph?)
For some reason, it won't go any more than that..... or maybe it just take longer to reach 145..... who knows...

100mph just to see what it felt like at that speed. Its quite easy to hit 85-90 if you're not paying attention.

I think it can, but it will take awhile. When I was at 140 mph, I felt like I could probably go a little faster, but it would take awhile. I had it floored. Cars were coming and I shut it down. I do have mods though, so maybe that makes somewhat of a difference.

I've got video from the passenger seat of an automatic running around 135 on California Motor Speedway, this was with the windows open, totally stock, so I know that's not a problem. I only wish I could have been at the wheel!

I know that some people will not believe me and I know that it is very, very, very, stupid to go this fast but I have had my 05 Auto TSX up to 140-141 mph.

No lies at all here. I was on an empty stretch of the Turnpike and it was approx. 3:45am. All the road conditions were perfect and there wasn't a car, cop, animal anything in sight. I had the car in SS mode and redlined each gear from a stop up to 4th gear. I stayed in 4th the rest of the time and quickly passed 110...120...130. I heard that the car is only rated at like 135 or something as top speed but my speedo read 140-141mph.

NO LIE!!

(btw...I am a dumb ass for going that fast in that car not on a racetrack or closed course with no safety equiptment, so please don't message me telling me how much of a dumb a$s I am!!!)

I have to say, again 100% honest, the car felt pretty damn good. I mean I didn't touch the steering wheel for the most part and didn't touch the brakes. But the tires didn't thud or make any noise, the bumps on the freeway didn't seem noticable and once at top speed the car cruised well. I really think that a good set of tires would help a bit but the OEM's weren't junk at all.

IMO the car had a bit more too...not like 10mph more but it probably had another 3 or 4 mph more. It was a stable ride and there was very little wind noise considering the stupid speed I was at.

On a track I bet it would be one hell of a ride!!

I'm sure it can. I've reached 112 easy. I just haven't found a straight-away long enough to try going faster.

Try the OC toll road (73). Expensive tolls make it practically deserted.

I've never seen it deserted (except when it openned), but there are some very nice hills on the 73 to go fast. I'm afraid a cop will pull out behind a turn or something, though. I've seen that happen several times.

I definitely believe you because I've hit around the same speed. Mine was in 4th gear too, and I was on the OEM Tires.

It was a rush

Would I ever do it again? Probably not. But it was fun

I would like to swap tires and take it to BeaverRun Motorsports complex to try to get it to go faster. However, based on the length of the front stretch and how long it takes the TSX to hit Top Gear I doubt it will happen.

You're right though it is one hell of a rush.

354 km/h. But I had just driven over the edge of a gorge and was in freefall at the time, so I'm not sure that's what you're looking for.

110/mph on the NJ Turnpike @ 4th gear SS. easily very stable with my mods - felt like going 80mph.

btw, i noticed once you're past the Trenton area, nj troopers try to clock you from the overpass. never go above the speed limit w/o a radar detector.

135mph on straight highway. Could have pushed it further, but did not for fear of cops. Although I did not spot one, they are always in the air.
