Question What Direction

I was wondering what goal are people trying to reach with their car? besides jus enjoyin the stock version.. when people invest into their rides are they trying to make the TSX a show car, drag/ drift racing car? Me personally, i was leaning towards performance.. now im staying a lil in the middle.. if anything more towards the looks department.. tho i still want a lil more power in my baby.

Power will come with time but for now there isn't much in the way of bolt-on power goodies for the TSX. I'm going to do some minor upgrades like wheels and tires and a rear swaybar but nothing crazy. I'd rather sink the money into a better car than buy mods for this one.

I think most people are trying to gain a little bit of power w/ boltons like the CAI. Personally I'm planning my mods around racing (not drag) then show.

my list of mods is rear sway bar, light 18" rims w/ new tires, springs/shocks, body kit

nice any others?... so far im going with the a lil bit of both, i agree with dan about how one should jus put money in buying another car then jus spending it on modding this one up.. if you wanna seriously be quick on the road, shoulda got the WRX... but im loving the TSX for what it is.. a few bolt ons wont hurt... i find it a lil funny how people would get the CAI and lighter rims, etc. and then drop a sub in the trunk.. lol that 40 pound box they got back there isnt the smartest addition for one whose tryin to gain performance.. but if the person is going just for looks.. i think its sweet, more power to em...

I wanted to improve the grip on the road. I could have just replaced the tires, but decided to also go with more rubber on the road and invested in new wheels as well.

I put on the CAI for just a bit more improvement and my overall pickness about "efficiency" of a process.

I'd like to put in Hondata eventually, but I have no other engine mods planned.

A good general rule when modding a new car is to ask yourself "would I have paid this much more the get this feature when buying the car off the lot?". If the dealer told me the TSX had an option to add 10 HP and 8lb-ft for $200, almost all of us would have said yes. Hence, a CAI is almost a no-brainer.

$500 for 10-20 additional HP and better torque curve? Yep. (ECU reflash, eventually will be out).

$1200-2400 for a quarter-second better 0-60 time, better braking, better fuel economy, better cornerning, better launch traction, and customized looks? Maybe, depends on the driver. Probably worth it for me. Lightwheel wheels+wider/better tires.

$200 for a smaller wheel gap, better cornering, but at the expense of ride quality? Tough one. I'm still torn on this. Lowering springs.

Better brake components is probably also a worthwhile deal for some people; you can't put a price on safety.

Once you start talking $5k+ for forced induction and nitrous, you gotta wonder "why?" with this car. You could spend $10k on mods, and a bone stock sti or evo is still going to smoke you. Personally, I plan to do a few of the above mods, keeping to total price below $3k or so, then start saving for a used "weekend car" that I would actually consider taking to the track.

The neuspeeds can be found as low as $150, but I'm thinking we really need aftermarket shocks too.

YES we do. Seems everyone is lookin over the shock issue especially with a lowered vehicle. A shock and spring combo will make a world of difference and then you add lighter wheels and some performance rubber...then you`re talking.
So after a CAI(of course).....go forth with suspension upgrdaes. I have springs....and next plan on a damper kit from eibach(not out YET), neuspeed front and rear sway bar, and better rims with 225 rubber.
