WARNING: Car Fresheners Stain!
I've just gotten this car freshener with oil and it was really cool cuz it matched my interior (ebony). It had metallic silver and black on it. Anyway here's waht the freshener is http://glade.com/car.asp. -yea dont ever buy that. Anyway, since the vents on the TSX are slanted kind of, i tried to make it stick to the air vent and it owrked for a couple weeks. Anyway, suddenly the damn thing (freshener) drops and the oil goes over my two storage drawers below the navi unit. I immediately try to clean it and it leaves a stain, a big white permanent oil stain! It's a pain to look at. I brought it to the dealer to see if they can just replace those with new ones, and they said it costs 80 DOLLARS just for the drawers and another 120 for maintenance. I dont think its worth 200 bucks all in all to fix that drawer - anyone know how to fix it?? I'll try to post a picture up to show u guys the damage but any help would be appreciated!! thanks

What kind of stupidass product is this? The text of Glade's own web page states "Liquid could damage some car surfaces....." . Further warnings include: "Avoid contact with eyes, skin, and clothing", "Do not install directly above cigarette lighter or ashtray.", and "Do not keep pets in car without adequate ventilation." I'm surprised you don't need a HAZMAT permit to transport one of these things in your vehicle. Why would they make something so easily spillable, fill it with a noxious, presumably flammable chemical and then suggest you drive around with it mounted to your A/C vent?

Almost all the "air fresheners" are bad for you. Better to just open the windows and air things out from time to time.
There are some "safe" air fresheners out there, but you have to look hard.

I'm assuming it's $80 for the parts and $120 to install them? If you're so inclined, I guess you can buy the parts and take apart the dash to install them yourself, but that's still $80...
My only other recommendation would be to clean it up as best you can (using something like Simple Green, as previously stated), and then apply something like Back to Black, Poorboy's Trim Restorer, Black Again, etc. If it works, then you're only out a fraction of the cost - if not, then I guess you'd be out at least $80 or would have to live with the stained trim.
This thread at www.autopia.org might help you out: http://www.autopia.org/forums/showth...m&pagenumber=2
Good luck!

OMG, I have that shiet too - cliped on the passenger-side vent.
Sorry to hear your problem. Thanks for the heads-up.
Maybe you should call Glade consumer line & ask if they have any remedy.

Order the parts that need replacing here www.acuraautomotiveparts.org
and do it yourself if you can not get the stains out.
