2019 issues?

After owning an '07 for the last 10 years, looking at a 2019. The '07 was reliable considering it got to 170k before a red-light driver performed rapid disassembly of my car's front end. Not a scratch on me!

Considering it's a first year of 3G FWD with A spec, what sort of things can I expect if I get this car? I do see a couple recalls - fuel pump and seatbelt. But I'm not sure yet if they've been done on this car.
Also, what can be done to prevent said issues?

Here is a listing of TSBs with the recalls. Provide your serial number to a dealer to determine if recalls have been performed.

Even though you are 2nd owner I think you can go to Acura recall database and input your VIN and get vehicle specific information. It may only report back "No open recalls" but that will pretty much tell you what you need to know.

I recently made a similar jump, going from a 2010 to a 2022, and have been thrilled. Make sure recalls are done and maintenance is documented and up to date, and you should be fine. The engine/transmission is far more common than the first gen RDX, as it and its variants have seen duty in multiple different Honda vehicles. So, you do have a large sample size if you want to dig around to see if there are any major red flags there.

I would personally avoid the 2019 models. That year/RDX was the first of many things for Acura. I.e all new platform, first time with a panoramic sunroof, first time pairing awd with the 10AT, first time with the latest (at that time) generation of SH-AWD, first time with that screen setup/touchpad, first time with that ELS 3D system.....etc. I would stay away.

I also had first year 2007 1G and that thing was absolutely bullet proof, but that Acura was a different animal and almost nothing from that model (save for the engine, which even then was heavily based on the very common K series engines) was new. Plus I am not sure if you need AWD but SH-AWD as you can attest from your 1G is worth every penny IMO.

Personally - I'd look at a 2021 on - as Acura worked out a lot of the issues with the first 2 years of a new model (2019 was the 1st year of gen 3 RDX). My 2021 has been rock solid for 4 years and easy on the pocket for routine service.
