Wanted a TSX or an IS for a VERY long time finally made a decision!!

Well I have been a member here for a while now. I loved what the TSX has to offer. Once the new IS came out in 06 the decision btw the two cars was tough I was going back and forth between the two. The reason why I didnt get an 06 IS because the demand was still strong and dealers werent willing to negociate.

So I finally choose the 2007 IS250. Dont get me wrong the TSX is a awesome car but the new IS is soooo sexy. Love the styling and overall looks better then the TSX.

Here are some pics of my new ride. Purchased 12/16/06. A week old.

Factory lip rear spoiler installed today at my dads shop. I was sooo nervous having my dad drill holes in my new ride. Everything worked out great just a screw got lost somewhere inside the trunk door.

I still love the TSX and I will still browse this great forum.

Nice choice, and nice color!

1) Will there be drill holes if you decide to remove the spoiler?

2) Do you have the option to install aftermarket 2 Din or single Din Navigation Systems?

I would definitely get TINTS + an aftermarket Navigation system if possible.

1) Yes the holes are permanent. I do not care because I will never remove this spoiler. Its a factory lip rear spoiler from Lexus.
2) I cannot answer this question since I dont know.

Thanks, I love this color combo also. Came from the port and I picked up the car with 7 miles on the odo.

Dealer gave me $5100 off msrp. MSRP was $35,700. Couldnt refuse this offer.

Damn you got a really good deal for an '07, why's the '06 still more expensive than the newer model year? I thought it would be the other way around.

Right now its a perfect time to buy an IS250. Dealers have a huge inventory of them. So you can easily get $5k off an IS250 right now.

IS350 its still hard to get a really good deal since dealers dont have to many sitting on the lot.

I like the white/black color combo!

Unfortunately, I wouldn't buy an IS250 or IS350 because of the really cramped back seats. There's even less rear space in an IS vs a TSX.

Congrats, the white pearl looks great. Does the IS250 offer navigation? What are the advantages of this car over the TSX? Is the backseat legroom cramped like tsx too?

The side of the rear seat is not a concern for me. I'm single with no kids so the rear seat has enough space for my needs.

Yes navigation is an option. But I didnt get it.

I absolutely love the smart key system in this car. You dont ever have to use a key ever again. The stock stereo sounds awesome, 12 speakers. The front leather seats blow hot or cold air through them. HID lights. You can set the tach and the speedo a certain speed, etc.. This car is pretty sweet. I love it.

For the money the TSX comes with more features.

Congrats. Its a beautiful car for sure. Love the color too. And it sounds like you got a hell of a deal but its obvious how overpriced the IS is. Its probably worth 30K but nowhere near 35 (MSRP).

The Lexus is a true luxury car for the money.
Speakers and audio design by Mark Levinson - one of the best in the industry.

$32700 - damn that's a steal for that car. Depending on spec level, UK pricing is starting around $50K.
I'm familiar with our OTR (on the road) which include registration plates, road tax, and delivery - what's OTD over there?

Very nice motor (so close to buying a 200 but opted for the Accord) but I still think those wing mirrors are a late Friday afternoon job by the design team. Really just don't gel with the car's lines and shape.

Out the door. Including taxes, paper. Same as your meaning.

Congrats on the purchase. Glad you're happy with your purchase.

Not a fan of the new IS tho, to me it looks like a 4-door tC. Im not hating, just my opinion.

Any plans to mod it? A nice drop and some staggered rims and that thing would look sweet.

Your car is beautiful....

I really felt the IS was a notch up in luxury.

I love that woodgrain in the IS! Gorgeous. We have a Camry also, I'm sure we will buy another Toyota or Lexus when it's time to replace the Camry, because the quality is just great! The fit and finish on the IS is better than on my TSX.

My husband loved the IS, tried to convince me to get it (we were picking my car). I bought the TSX because I loved it so much. The choice wan't the result of comparing the 2 rationally, although I tried to make it so. In the end, it was just a "gut", visceral....... "there's nothing that makes me smile like I do when I drive this thing" feeling with the TSX.

Congratulations!, it's a superb car.

congrats. I'm also thinking about trading mine in for IS350 sometimes in next year or so. I love tsx but man, that thing is sweet. I love white with black interior. Good job on your purchase.

Congrats on your new car!

I hesitated between the IS and the TSX a few months ago, but the price point was too far off for me to go IS. The other factors for me were the cramped rear seat (married with 4 and 1 year old), and the luxury/sport balance of the two. I wanted the sportier car, and felt that the TSX was better for me.

Keep us posted on how the car works for you!

I love the new IS!

I test drove it when it came out. I almost traded in my 05 TSX.

I test drove both the 250 and 350. I wasn't really that impressed with the 250 accel. but when I got in the 350, I felt the difference btw the TSX and IS350, kinda missed the rush of the V6 (ya I had a 2nd gen TL before my TSX).

The biggest impression on the IS is the leather seats. I love the glove soft leather, it felt better and more expensive then the TSX. It rides more like a luxury car (05 TSX you feel every bump on the road)

The biggest disappointment was the 250 accel. (kinda felt slow for a V6) and handling didn't feel crisp to me. I also felt more cramp in the IS.

I didn't like the fact that the navi lacked a joy stick. I really hate touching the screen and leaving finger prints.

If I didn't have to worry about money, I would have a black AWD IS350 w/ navi, but since money does matter to me, I still believe the TSX is the better value and stuck to my beloved TSX.

Congrats on your new car......I would be more jealous if you had the 350 w/ navi.

i also had the decision to make between the TSX and the IS. I wanted the IS350 but that was too much so i went with the TSX cause it had the best value for the money. the TSX is such an awesome car that i didn't even regret not getting the IS.

Why no 350? The 350 is what makes the new IS series...power and awd. Still looks a lot like a camary/solara to me.

I also strongly considered the car, and then I noticed that the options that the TSX came standard with, when priced on the IS were making it too pricey. I believe the HID lights were even an option. Still a great looking car and takes on a different appearance than the TSX with its more rounded body styling. Nonetheless.. congrats !

No 350 because I didnt want to spend $40k OTD. I got my IS for $32k OTD. $30k was my budget so thats why I seriously considered the TSX. In long run I love the Lexus IS styling and interior alot more so thats why I got the Lexus. Plus I wanted a RWD car this time since I have owned an Acura Integra gs-r for about 8 years now (still do). Wanted alittle change from a FWD car.

My friend has an 06 is250, It was the same color and match. Very nice combo.

Some pros I liked was some of the gauges. He has "6 gears for his AT" He was reminding me one is really cruising gear. It was nice to see the little thing go through the gears in auto mode.

I never saw the Tsx navi in action so i was impressed at his navi. The sound system was nice as well.

Some little things i was'nt a fan was tight rear seats, little trunk space. The windows in the rear are so high up when you sit in it haha.

The car was very loose compared to my car, hit bumps smoother more roll in turns.

Other than that it was a nice choice for him. Thumbs up for yourself.

pretty sure the 350 doesn't offer awd, but the 306hp/277 lb-tq is very nice. i still get bored driving it though since it's auto which why my wife drives it. paid $37,700 OTD w/sports package.

^^ Your right, only the 250 is available with AWD. And with an MT for that matter.
