Vtec is awesome.
Well, i finally broke 1000 last night and started rippen it. its nice, but i was kind of disappointed with the power and the short vtec range. i've driven b18 type-r and b16 si, i love the vtec on those two engines, but the k24 has more torque.
whats the best way to get more torque? on my last car, it about 100 lbs more torque and im starting to miss it.
but im still happy with what i have.

You would have to go into modifications. CAI seems to help with torque and hp. Lightening the driveline as well as accessories would be key. You could start by buying yourself a lightweight wheel/tire combo. You could also go the underdrive/ultralight accessories pulleys kit. If you want to go further, you'd have to wait but a lightweight flywheel would be in order, as well as a lightweight clutch assembly.
Hondata in theory would also help with the torque, and could help optimise breathing mods.

if you want torque out of this engine, FI is your only option. but how feasible FI is another question. atleast in terms of cost/reliability/gains.

Out of curiosity, how does the torque and feeling compare to the GS-R? (my last car) It must be more than that, right? And the GS-R had some balls if you kept the revs up.

My friend had ITR and another had the SI, those had less torque then our cars, but im just mentioning how great the vtec are on those car.
my last car was an audi a4 1.8t Modded I was running about 230 hp with about 255 torque. since it was a turboed car, the car had alot of torque, and with few small mods.

You know, I've been neglecting my Vtec technology lately. I've not revved it that high for months
Ah, it must be the fact that the bloody 92 octane is about $1.03 a liter on most days.
Soze, who is going to do some Vtecing later

VTEC-E is the fuel economy version and it staggers the opening of the valves to induce more swirl in the combustion chambers. IMO the valvetrain in the TSX could be one of out most sophisticated we offer, the only limiting factor is the long stroke which forces the engineers to keep the revs modest.
