Virginia Speeding Ticket?

I was in VA two weeks ago and got a ticket. I am wondering if VA shares their DMV database with NY. If they do share my insurance will probably go up. I called my insurance agent and they had no idea. I know PA and NJ share with NY...
Any ideas?

The following quote is from the NYS DMV website:

"Note: Insurance companies have point systems different from the DMV driver violation point system. The two point systems have no connection. Contact your insurance company about their point system.

Out-of-state traffic violations: Except for Ontario and Quebec, points are not added to your NYS driver record if you commit an out-of-state traffic violation. Points can appear on your NYS driver record if you commit a traffic violation in Ontario or Quebec."

Now, VA and NY are both Interstate Compact members, but the above seems to put you in the clear, with the NYS DMV as far as points matter. Your agent, acting dumb as he/she is, is the only one that can find this out on the insurance side. Please, if you ask them to call about it, make them talk about a hypothetical new policy applicant. Those slimy insurance types (I was an insurance type a few months, believe me, they are slimy at the upper or decision making levels) will use the hint of the agent calling about you to dig into you records.

Also, note they say they don't assess points for most out off state records, not that they don't put the conviction on your record.

Look at the good side...it could be worse. I had a 2 mph over, 57 in a 55 on my record for 3 years in Texas . In Missouri it was a no point violation, so the judge wouldn't dismiss it...in Texas, it counts as a full violation...
