Used TSX prices?

Thinking about stepping out of the high mileage CL-S and into a TSX. What should I expect to pay for a 6MT + Navi with under 30k miles.

I dont know about the MD but in CA, the TSX is holding its value very well and equipped like this, everyone wants practically sticker for them (by practically, I mean 10% or less from sticker). Not worth it to me. I'd rather have a new non-smoker, non clutch slipper, non cracked leather seat model for that money. (yes I've seen "new" cars less than 1 year old that look more worn than my 5 yr old with 82k miles on it). If it were 20% less and super clean, might be worth it.

Expect a 2004 model to run you around $22k with that mileage. I've seen them go for as much as $25k used to a low of $21k. Guess it just depends on your luck.

If I could get one for $22k w/6spd and navi i'd consider that a great deal. That's what I paid for my '02 CL-S in '03.

In the greater (meaning Phoenix-Las Vegas) AZ area, I have seen them used going from as little as $22K up to retail price for the 04 style. I thought I would buy an 04 and save some $$, but I found it more worthwhile to just buy new.

I put 60k miles on my CL-S in 24 months. It is dumb for me to take the hit off the showroom floor when I can get a great car that is only 1 year old.

A 6MT w/NAV is a rare combo so you'll have to look for quite a while to find one. 22K is pretty optimistic - maybe around late summer when the 06 is about to come out and some of the early 04s get to be 2 years old. I've been scanning Autotrader for the past month in the DC area and nothing like that is available at that price - actually very few private sale used ones at all. You won't find one at a dealer lot for that much for quite a while.

Just curious, what's making you willing to sacrifice the power in a CLS for a TSX?

Hmm...seems we are on the opposite sites of the market. I may be selling my TSX.

I'd even be happy with $22k-$23k range for my car and it seems to be very close to the specs youre looking for, but I'm not that close to you. I just had no concept of what it was worth. My car is number 4567 of the manufacturing line, so it's an earlier 2004 TSX.

That would make a diff for me. I'd rather have a TSX with a VIN over 25000. Your VIN would make the car almost 2 years old now vs. one year old with a high VIN. Of course a lot of it also has to do with the milage and condition of the car. There's probably a good spread in price on a TSX with 10K vs. 30K on the odo of the same MY and condition.

Yes, my TSX is close to two years old, but I don't recall any issues with lower number VINs (other than age). But I'm confused at what you wrote earlier. Above you mentioned that $22K would be an optimistic price for a 2 year old TSX of that combination, or did I misread that?

I meant 22K would be kinda low for an 04 w/NAV 6MT in good condition with low miles - most dealers would list such a car for 27K+ on the lot. Of course as soon as I said all of that I found a private sale one on cars.com for 24K w/ 9300 miles (6 mo old) - meaning that one could probably be had for that price (22K).
It seems like most issues, like rattles and tranny cowl, were more prevalant in the lower VIN range.

Man unless you really hate your CL I would go to the TSX. I have a CL-S now and when I drove the TSX loaner I was expecting a little more oommph, but it was a 5AT so that could be the difference.

I'm in the same boat mrsteve. Just keep in mind patience is a virtue.
I got rid of my '01 CL-S in Dec. '03 because of high mileage, tranny failure fear, and a baby on the way. I got my wife an SUV and a year and half later I am ready to get myself a ride. With gas prices the way they are, power is less of a cocern and gas mileage is more of a cocern. Having had navi in my CL-S I am an addict and the huge ass screen in the TSX looks like steaks! Everything with Acura is great with the exception of brakes and auto. tranny. I know how to fix my own breaks so as long as I get a stick w/ navi I am good.

Now concerning patience. The TSX is holding value because if you remember when it was released it was damn hard to find one (more or less one with a 6speed and nav). However, not to much longer the TL was released and it was released in FULL FORCE. It was all I would see on dealer lots. Now fast forward to today. Look on Autotrader and ebay and see how many used TLs are there. Now look at the prices. They are falling well below the $30K mark. I do beleive the high price of a used TSX associated with limited availability will be offset dramatically by the numerous amounts of used TLs that will be on the market.

I did the same thing...traded my 01 CL-S for my current TSX. I waited a month for my TSX to come in because of the limited avaiability. Now as I look through online resellers like autotrader, I see very few TSX's within 200 miles (6MT + Navi).
