Hey all, I was wondering if anyone could tell me what that little fin one the roof of the US model is? Is it for for XM sattelite? I haven't seen it on any of the models here in Toronto

Not really a fin, but more of just a pod. It's the XM antenna.

Do Canadian TSX's not have XM?

No the Canadian ones do not come with XM. The only option on the Canadian TSX is the Navigation system although acura does offer sattelite radio now as a seperate install.

The US Model is amphibious. It can travel under water for short distances, as long as your turn the A/C off. Acura added that fin to help with directional stability at moderate undersea depths.

AM402 Amphibious Package

Darth62 is right. It's the AM402 Amphibious packge. Living in Detroit it allows me to travel to Windor, ON via the Detroit River to pick up Coffee Crisps, cheap Molson, Duty-Free booze and drunk 19 year old girls at your wonderful drinking establishments.

As mentioned, a US only option.

Go Tigers baby...

By the way, this is my first post - just picked up my 2006 CGP TSX AT/NAV w/ Aspec wheels, spoiler & amphibious package yesterday. LOVE IT!

How do you post pics in these forumns? The "insert image" button doesn't seem to do what I want...

it's in the trunk...underneath your rear shelf. That's why the type of tint on the rear windshield matters....if it's metallic, it'll reflect signals away from your navi's antenna.

That's what the owner's manual says. The only one that matters is the rear window, so you could get metallic for all the other windows, and only use the expensive ceramic stuff on the rear window. But few here have actually reported problems with metallic tint. I once called a tint shop that's right up the street from my Acura dealer, they say they've done lots of Acura's with NAV systems and had no complaints with their metallic tints. I've been debating this for a long time, too, as I want to tint my windows, but don't want to shell out for the cost of ceramic. Also, scratching of the tint from rolling the windows up and down seems to be a very common problem. Do a search, you'll find lots...
