My point is if you were to drop 26000 USD, you would want to see your car rated as #1. People want to justify their purchases. No one would really like to hear someone say to you, "wow, nice car, but this other car is much better." Obviously people buy for different reasons and one of the Legacy's main selling point is the fact that it's got a lot of horses under the hood.

jcg, who's going to Borders tonight and will take a look
edit: I also saw the quote Dan posted and was inspired to link, since I'm a jerk :P

On a side note, it seems that these auto mags are elevating the Legacy into the near-lux category with these comparisons. I don't really think it belongs there, but I guess it's an arguable matter of classification.

Hi, guys--I'm new to the forum.
I spent the last few days test driving the Subaru Outback wagon, thinking it would be nice to have a more flexible vehicle than a sedan. I drove 2 XTs (turbo) and one base 4-cylinder. The turbo is fast, no doubt. But the overall feel is a much looser car: less steering feel, some surge of the turbo, more body roll. Then I went back and drove the TSX again that I loved so much when I first drove one about 6 months ago. It was instant love again!
I also test drove a TL a couple of months back. Also lots of power, but the steering felt more remote, the car in general felt like a much bigger car, like my 91 Legend.
Bottom line: I finally bought a TSX, due in at the dealer tomorrow. PWP, which I think is very classy.
I've been following the TSX since its first appearance at the San Jose CA auto show. The TSX is much more fun to drive than the Audi, the G35, and even the 3-series, IMHO. I love it. Did I already say that?

since i dont know how to post a new thread, ill ask here. is there a previous thread aboot the comparison test by Motor Trend, of the tsx vs. c230 vs. saab9-3? it came out july of 2003, and the mercedes came out on top.
however, motor trend's comaparison was highly unscientific compared to C/D. i was wondering what yall think about it.
and btw, road and track was never on the top of my car magazine list. i was impressed when they made their layout larger, but they still lack the visual oopmh and the technical expertise of C/D. so that RT comparison in which the legacy beat the tsx doesnt hold much water for me, esp when considering the top magazine C/D gave huge props to the TSX.
and why does RT tend to always disagree with its sister publication, C/D? just to be different is what i think! just my

Welcome to the forum.
I'm interested to know how you would compare your Legend to the TSX in terms of power and fun to drive factor and anything else you would care to mention when you get your car.

I'm currently driving a gold 91 Legend (amazing condition). My family is the original owner of the car. More than likely, I will end up buying an 05 TSX, making the same transition as you.

The IS, G35, 3 series, CTS, and the A4 (although in the test) are all to expensive to compete in the Sub $30,000. The A4 would be a sweet car, but you really need to spend a lot more money. They said that you can't buy a 3 series for $30,000 any more, the same applies for the A4.
