TSX vs. Accord Coupe V6
I'm in the market for a new car. I have a quote of $25,000 on the Accord Coupe V6 automatic w/ Navi and $27,500 on a TSX automatic w/ Navi (their MSRPs are virtually the same). I do like the TSX more, but I'm not sure if it's worth the extra $2,500. I would like to know what some of you think. I know most of the readers here are biased, but please be as fair to both as possible. Here are some of the differences (at least the ones I find) that the $2,500 provide, at least on paper:
1) 1 year extra warranty
2) HID headlights
3) Dynamic stability control
4) 360 watt sound system
5) Larger rear anti-roll bar
6) Blinkers on mirrors
7) 40 less horses
8) Better gas mileage, but requires premium

There are tons of threads on this so try a search.
But you missed some big differences.
- TSX handling is MUCH better
- TSX looks better (most people find the new accord to be butt ugly)
- TSX is made in Japan
Overall , even though the TSX is not as quick, its a sportier and more fun car to drive.
On the other hand the Accord will give you more room and more straight line power.

I just traded in a '01 EX V6 Coupe. Great car, but not very sporty. Even down to the tires, they both have nice Michelins, but the Pilot's on the Acura are much better than the non-sporty ones on the Accord. 17" vs. 16" as well.

if you dont mind the way the accord v6 coupe looks than its the car for you, with the 2500 dollars saving you could upgrade the accord's suspension, stereo, and get some HIDs. in the end you'll have a car that handles prolly just as good, sounds just as good if not better, have HID, and have a v6 too.
as for me, I couldnt get over how the accord looked so i opted for the tsx.

as for HID lights the Accord will most likely have them in 2005 or 2006,,, The Accord Handles OK i test drove it but the styling looks kinda cheap,, although with the money your saving you could get 17inch wheels and drop it maybe an inch or so, and should look as crisp as the TSX, also there are millions of accords on the street and few TSX's anyway there both great cars with the same everything except,,,, basically comes down to this
Accord EX V6-- More Power striahgt away and up-hill
TSX- Better Handeling, Stlying

The Accord has a more powerful engine, but the added weight in front makes it too front-heavy to be a good handler. TOV did a video last year comparing the two cars head-to-head on a winding road. The TSX couldn't pass the Accord, but the Accord was much slower in the curves.
As for the rest, both interior and exterior, the TSX is the superior car.

Can't believe no one has mentioned that the TSX comes with two more doors than the Accord coupe. Only $1250 each. What a bargain. I think the interior of the TSX looks nicer. The back seat of the TSX is smaller than the Accord sedan, probably about the same as the coupe, maybe roomier.

the reason the US Accord is bigger in the rear than the TSX/Euro Jdm Accord is that us Americans have bigger bodies, taller, and are fatter than our Japanese and European counterparts, which isn't good.
this comparison between the Accord coupe and TSX is just like comparing the Camry Solara and the IS300. They're dif cars.

Under "Exhaust Notes" they have a good comparison of the Accord V-6 MT Coupe and the MT TSX on video. Very comprehensive!!! It'll give you a good idea of what you're looking for....personally, I think you'd enjoy driving the TSX much more...it handles like a dream (even with the stock rubber)....but then again, if you want power off the line....then the Accord is the way to go!! Cheers.

Just for the record...I tried both and decided on the Accord early on. The only problem was the handling. The TSX just blew it away. As for power, the TSX feels just as good. You just don't hear the snarl of the V6--maybe that's important to you.
I also find the TSX just the right size for me. Now, before you go and think I'm a little guy, I'm 6-1 and 190 lbs. But having car that I can whip through traffic and the good gas mileage (consider that the 98 Taurus SHO I had averaged around 18) makes this car Oh-So-Sweet!. And it runs better than the Taurus (for some odd reason, the V8 SHO was 7.6 to 60). The Accord Coupe felt as heavy and wallowy was the Taurus. The TSX feels like an olympic athlete in comparison.

I was seriously considering the Accord Coupe too, but there were a few strikes against for me...
1.) I found the Honda dealers in my area really obnoxious. I had some miserable experiences.
2.) I really wanted to make it easier to carry extra people around with me. The extra doors are a big help there.
3.) If I'm gonna have a coupe, I want a COUPE. Something with some presence, real OOMPH! The 350Z comes to mind, maybe a used NSX? Something that is a bit more sporty. The Accord just strikes me as a sedan pretending to be a sports coupe.
