Keep an eye on Ebay in the coming weeks to see if any headlight assemblies and/or grills pop up for sale in your area.

Would it be completely stupid for me to believe that the parts stolen have serial numbers on them that can prove which car they came from?

i think parts like that mostlikely do not have sierial number that would match your car as your car have VIN numbers. they'll have VIN on structural parts like doors, trunks, bumpers; engine, transmision and maybe ECU.

Hey, this is drkabe roomate; the guy with the black TSX. Yeah I'm at those theives. But, it's strange why they had to break the our windows, because the these guys didn't break the other TSX owner's rear window. He has an 05 though. But they cut our horn, disconnected the battery, and well thrashed the front.

But they didn't take any cds or my the $300 plus Escort Solo 2 radar detector on my windscreen. Just my lights

If any TSX owners ever encounters someone trying to take their HID lights; it's probably the right thing to do to call the police, but I'd like you to keep a baseball bat handy and go Midevil on their asses. Thankyou.

Yo, I just want to share my experence about my 2004 TSX it was broken into twice with a lock picking kit. I got so pisst... that i felt like my car was raped!!! So i i decided to sell it and by a new TSX with Navi. Since then i have installed a Cliffor alarm G5 with everything as well a Blackjack(lowjack). I think every TSX owner should get a clifford alarm.

Get an aftermarket alarm, battery backup, and a Piezo Siren.
If anyone needs the part #'s for the battery backup and Piezo Siren, let me know.

Nothing will be fullproof against thieves, but at least this would make it more difficult for them.

I recommend the CLIFFORD G5 AVANTGUARD SYSTEM with BLACKJACK or you can get the top of the line which is the MATRIX is has a receiver pager which tells you if anything is happening to your car and it has a range of 3 miles!!!!!!!!!

tsx projectors are one of the best projectors out there as far as intensity, color, cutoff , which is good for retrofit as mention earlier. You can check ebay but all you will see is the projectors.

Why do they steal them? Do they fit into other Honda cars or something? I don't see why there is such a demand for risking jailtime to steal a stock car part when most reputable TSX owners would visit a body shop for an accident and get them purchased the legal way.

1) The projector sells on ebay for about $200+ , Ballast about a $100 each, bulbs $50 a pair.
2) It fits in any car with halogen bulbs modding the housing to fit projectors in it.
3) Stock item(oem) cost too much.

I got an idea. Would it be possible to replace the screws/nuts/bolts or whatever the existing attachment HondAcura uses with a TORX bolt or some other odd hex bolt that might hinder their fast removal process?

They would just simply do more damage removing the parts.

I would watch the hell out of eBay if I were you. Like this looks suspicious as all hell http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TSX-P...QQcmdZViewItem

In fact, I'm going to put markings on my headlights, so that should they get stolen, I can recognize it on eBay. Thats the only thing I can really think of.

That auction does look suspicious. There is no specific location for the seller listed, someone could ask them where they are located at.

Im really sorry to hear what happened to you guys, those pics made my stomach turn. Seeing that really hurts even though it isnt my own, I really feel for you guys. I cant describe the hate I have towards such thieves.

One of my cars were broken into x-mas eve. They stole an alpine flip screen and HK SP89 out of the car. Its just a devistating feeling, and I know how you guys feel. Hopefully the thieves are caught by owners before cops, that way some personal justice can be served prior to arrest and conviction.

were there any broken plastic pieces on the ground under the cars where the headlight mounting points, or assemblies might have broken? Or did they unbolt the lights?

If there was any broken pieces remaining at the scene, I would ask the auction sellers to give actual pics of the lights they are selling on Ebay. If they are broken and missing the same pieces, you can request their info on Ebay. They will get a notice you requested, but you can then forward their info to law enforcement and insurance agencies.

doubt these are stolen. the seller stated that the tabs were still intact. i think most theives would just get a crowbar and break the headlights off.

Yea I doubt they're stolen, because he has a pretty wide variety of other items. I'm just throwing out an example. Can the OP confirm that the tabs were broken off? I'm not familiar with how the headlight is bolted on, but you'd think they'd keep it intact if it wasn't too hard. If thats the case though, I'd look for someone selling a bunch of used HID ballasts and bulbs.

recently, some guy's digi cam was stolen....a week or so later he went on ebay to find a replacement...ended up purchasing his OWN camera back. guy who stole it got caught and went to jail..

that auction doesn't look suspicous to me. if he was shady, he wouldn't have so many positive feedbacks and 0 negative. someone woulda sensed something in 150ish auctions.

That doesn't mean anything...unless the tabs were broken off. The chances of someone buying their own headlight back is pretty slim. Like I said, I don't think those headlights are stolen, its just weird how he took pics of 3 sets of headlights. I'd keep an eye on eBay though if I were in this guy's position, its the best you can really do.

Hey Srenitynow my Clifford Avantguard G5 costs $399.00 and install is $680.00 ..Yea i know it really price the total came out to $1,079.00 but think about this system comes with BLACKJACK (Lowjack) you insurance will go down and the guy that installs it is a real pro he installs sound systems for owners of Ferraris, Porsches, and BMW.

The thing is he does take about a week to install it because he hides the alarm system in different area's of the car where thevies would never think of.

If any of you are in the San Francisco area which is where i'm from i would recommand him.
Hell this one time when i stop by his stop to check up on my car there was a damn SILVER Ferrari F430. shit i got to sit in the damn thing ...WOW it's like i'm sitting on half a million dollars with wheels.!!!!!

Sorry to hear about the misfortune. I have a feeling that the thugs who stole it are either friends of another resident in the complex or are actual residents. I think its highly unlikely that it was an impromtu "smash and grab" job. Someone was scoping your cars before it happened.

For whatever its worth, I think the risk of this happening to other TSX owners are remote compared to the risks associated with owning an Integra / Civic Si (pre-immobilizer). After my Integra was stolen, I was so pissed that I actually learned how to steal one and considered buying a handgun. To my surprise, it turned out that the anti-theft measures were so inefffective that even an amateur could steal a teg in under 1 minute with a simple screwdriver and *censored*. For the theives, the precious B18C motors have high rewards on the black market in excess of $2000.

Jacking someone's headlights on a TSX is a much messier job with far less payback. It might be limited to someone low on their crack supply. After reading this post, it brought back bad vibes from my stolen Integra experience. I ended up looking at how the headlamps are removed last night. It looks like a lot of breaking is required -- unless they want to unfasten every mount.

Back to my Integra, one of the first problems I encountered was the constant stealing of my front signal lights that were held in place by a simple philips fastener. I ended up changing the fasteners to a less common torx screw. The problem never happened again. For my Type R front lip, made sure I mounted it with FOUR different fastener types -- flat, phillips, torx, allen -- I wanted to make it a complete PITA to steal. Fortunately, it seemed to do its job and I wasn't victimized again.

If this turns out to be more than an isolated incident, us AZ'ers will have to put our heads together for some measures.

i know it's unlikely someone would buy their own headlights.....but this was just a funny case of justice i was pointing out.

he found the digital camera on ebay, purchased it, then realized it was shipped from the same town....which then he realized, it was probably the thief.

not likely to happen with headlights, but you never know!

I heard a story about a friend of a friend whose car radio was stolen not once, but twice in six months (this was probably 10-15 years ago or so.) The thieves would remove the side panel and reach back behind the radio to pop it out the front of the dash. When he replaced the radio after the second break in, he soldered fish hooks on the back of it, with the hooks pointed up.

I kid you not, one day he went out to his car after having been parked at the mall and found a guy in his right floorboard crying, with his hands stuck back under the dash and blood streaming down his arms. The cops were pretty amused when they showed up.
