TSX Seat Shifting question
TSX Seat Shifting question
Some owners of the TSX have complained that the Tsx driver's seat shifts (moves forward and back?) under hard braking or sharp turns.
I have several questions:
1) Is this something that develops over time or is it present when you drive the new car off the dealer's lot?
2) If it is present from the very beginning, it is something that can be detected while checking out the car at the dealer. Can you sit in the TSX while the car is off, grab the steering wheel and move hard forward and backward with your feet? Is the problem detectable if one does this or is it only detectable while braking hard and making sharp turns?
Thanks to everyone with any input.

Mine got worse over time, i didnt even notice it at all when i first got it and its getting progressivly worse.. when i first got my car when they did the fabric/paint protection i had a loaner TSX and it was way more noticeable (you would feel a shift forward on routine stops wheras my car you only feel it under heavy breaking)
I havent tried seeing if i can reproduce it by holding the wheel yet, i figured when i get some time to bring it in for my lil bitch list (i have 2 rattles and the plastic piece on my center console broke off) I'll have them replace the track.. :sqnteek:

I had mine "fixed", but it's back now, sort of. What I've found now is that it depends on the adjustment of the seat. Sometimes when I notice it sliding, I can move the seat around up/down, fwd/back, change seatback angle and it goes away (can't feel it when pulling on wheel). What's weird is that it can happen even if I put the seat back to where I started (feels like anyway, w/o memory seats, I can't be sure). I'm going to have it looked at again, next time I'm in. arg.
