This is why I need to fork over money to make my car unique. Too many people picking them up now and making my car just one of the many out there instead of one of the few.

Is this good for resale?

Does the popularity (albeit not a huge increase in units sold) help resale value?

I would think so a popular car should hold it's value longer then one that is piling up on the dealers lots.

For a good laugh, check out the comments:

Comment: Too bad when the new IS comes out, the TSX will go down the hole

Title: Cheap fake luxury sells
Comment: The TSX is one if not the cheapest fake luxury car. Off course it will sell, its only 25k after discounts. Who the hell CANNOT afford a 25k car?

Its an embarresment to the term "luxury"

...

Title: TSX = European Accord
Comment: The thing that bothers me is that TSX is marketed as the Accord in both Europe and Japan. We all know that the Accord isn't a luxury car. I just find it weird that they would position it that way. That's like Lincoln releasing the "Navigator" as the "Expedition", or Audi calling the "A4" as the "Jetta" in certain markets. Just seems odd.

Title: Acura= entry level blah
Comment: The TSX is nothing more than an Accord, it is not a luxury anything. You can get a damn Kia for more than a TSX, what the hell is luxurious about that?
Its a good car but Acura has the lamest lineup of any fake luxury car maker.1
1. FWd
2. No v-8s
3. Made in America TL
4. Tranny problems
5. Cheap leather and paint

I used to like Acura till they started chasing sales by making cars cheap to build AND buy

Title: TSX is the best sedan under 30K
Comment: in North America. Drive a 2005 Audi A4 3.0 for a few miles and then get into a TSX. The NVH control, powertrain and engine reponse/linearity makes the A4 feel like a 1989 CS90 sedan.

Do the same with a BMW 325.

For all those who have not driven a TSX, please do not post derogatory comments of the vehicle until you have driven one.

To the "Hello" post above: You are absolutely nuts and clearly have no basis for judgment.
Sounds like someone we know

He might be right. Especially if the 250 starts in the mid to high twenties.

Which I highly doubt, given the so-called list of standard equipment (though we still don't know how valid that is) the base IS should come with. I don't expect the IS 250 to start below at least 31K.

Whoever posted this obviously doesn't know anything about cars. The Navigator IS the Expedition and the Audi A4 IS a Jetta in the same way the TSX IS a European Accord. They take another model and make it more luxurious, hence "luxury BRAND." If you don't want the luxury features, you get the Accord or Jetta or whatever. I would crack on the lexus more because the IS costs more, but is based on the Carolla. I don't understand some people.

Not true. The IS is not based off the Corolla. In fact, I believe the Corolla has MORE leg room in the back seat (or it feels like it has more leg room) than the IS. The IS is a unique platform because of the RWD.

And all of those people who are saying the TSX is just a Euro Accord, to them I say, "So what!!??" The Europeans compare the Euro Accord against BMWs, MBs, and Audis, so why can't we compare the Acura TSX against those same cars? People in the US, especially the morons that read the stuff from autospies as gospel, are a bunch of self indulgent, arrogant idiots who define their existence based on the brand names they choose to surround themselves with.

It could lose the Civic-like kick panels on the doors. The seats kill your right hip and leg after about 3 hours on the road.
what's a "kick panel" ? something for one to put the foot on to open the door ?

That's because they're brainwashed by the luxury image that MB, BMW and Audi portray over here in North America. If they were aware of some of the more plebeian vehicles these so-called luxury brands manufacture back in the old world, they wouldn't post such dumb comments.

I have to agree with some of the above posts. I see WAY more TL's here than TSX's. One thing I don't understand though is that the local dealer here can't keep TSX's on the lot. Where are they all going?????

What makes an Audi or BMW more of a luxury car than a TSX with Navi? Testicle massaging seats? Maybe it comes with "member stretching" accessories to make the owners feel more like a man..

Or maybe the ego inflation tube to plug into your head so it can swell up...

How's about a nostril puller to help keep it so that you're always looking down your nose at those inferior people driving inferior cars around you...

But Gilbo and 1SICLEX say Acura is a "niche" not a luxury brand. Aren't they always right?

Where those comments came from? Clublexus?

They probably haven't seen 518i, E240 and Audi A4 1.8(150hp) before...

I guess I was wrong, many review sites say the IS300 is based off the Corolla, but it's actually the same as the Toyota Altrezza sold in Japan. But, my reasoning still holds true - it's not a Lexus-only platform. Also, edmunds says some components are shared with the Corolla including some of the instrumentation.

TSX is the best car i have own, hands down. Ride is sweet, handle like a dream, cock pit is to die for, and not to mention.....i love my HIDs which i can't get that on a F@#$ing Accord(US) All in all, best bang for the buck....and if those BMW lovers out that who wants to spend more $$ and still have least stuff then we TSXer do.....then let them be. Less TSX on the road. Ohhh yeah, i have seem wayyyyy to many TL's out there....way more then TSX.

tsx is becoming more popular, is that good or bad for resale value? more popular so more demand, yet more readily available.?

Take care of your car and keep it at good condition. I don't think the resale value is affected too much by the increasing popularity of TSX -- it is still a minority compared to other cars that have been around.

Things that are Simply Not True

To the extent that it matters, the conventional wisdom on the TSX is simply wrong:

The Acura TSX is not a Euro Honda Accord.

In fact, the TSX is a blend of the Euro Honda Accord, the Japanese Honda Inspire, and U.S. Acura's service, warranty, and brand value.

Rephrased, the TSX is a unique combination of some of the best Honda has to offer world-wide.

In my opinion, that's just really smart marketing and engineering: leverage global Honda organization innovations to create new, compelling offerings that compete aggressively at a given price point.

oh man how many times you have to play this same old tape
lol you're llike comparing fuckin DNA or something.

All publications that mentioned it say TSX is Euro Accord.
They say that because MECHNICALLY, TECHNICALLY, UNDER-THE-HOOD it is Euro Accord (you agree with the red sentence ?)

To me, TSX = Euro Accord because i look at it this way : If I take the 2 cars apart to pieces - 90% of pieces will match. and 97% of the METAL pieces will match.

Yeah sure when you start to attach intangible, quixotic, abstract "things" you get different "DNA" I suppose.
