TSX no more....
TSX no more....
Waaaazzzup ya'll.
I sold my tsx and got me another car
The TSX was the first really nice car I have ever bought. The other car I purchased is okay, but it's no TSX.
I have visited acura-tsx often and gotten some really great advice, posted some good things and some stupid things, and got more than my fair share of laughter from what some of the members have posted. Thanks for the good times, great stories, and terrific advice!
However, I will not be gone from acurazine. I have gone over to the dark side. Muuaaahhhh! The replacement car that I got is a 2005 Anthracite Metallic/Black interior/5AT/Navi.

Happy motoring!
Thanks ya'll. I can't wait til the break in period is over to open her up. Hehehe. The ladies at work are already loving the car. All I hear is, "you're gonna have to give me a ride in it."

How was the trade-in value? Did you happen to notice if many 6MT TLs on the lot?

....

I didn't get as much as I wanted so it's too embarrassing to post. I had negative equity in the car (not alot, just more than what I could pay off at this time), eventhough the retail value of the car was more than what I owe (or the payoff amount was less than what the car's private or dealer's sale was worth). I never put any money down on any of the cars I purchased. Basically, if the car had 6000 miles on it, the dealer could sell it as new. I was over by 231 miles! Even at that, the dealer was gonna sell it as a certified TSX with an extra warranty. So I figure they could probably get anywhere between $24-26K.
Some nights I wonder if I did the right thing, but after I factored in the residual value of the car (should I decide to keep the TSX until I am about even with payments and payoff), my income and future expenses, how to deal with the negative equity if I sold it to a private party, the fact that the TL was what I originally wanted, zero down purchase, the gap between the dealer trade value and the price of the TL (tax that I would have to pay)...in my opinion, getting out of my TSX now would cost me less than if I waited. Everything factored together, I paid about $800-900 over invoice for the TL. Trust me, it didn't feel like that when I signed the sales contract.
The only thing the dealer "threw in", after much harrassing
by me, was the wheel locks, splash guards, trunk tray, and all weather mats at "dealer cost." And yes, after I bought the TL, I kinda miss my TSX b/c there is just too many damn TL's on the road and in my color even! Aside from that, I love the new car. Just can't wait til the break-
in period is over.

Congrats on the new car. If they put the AWD on it (and don't make it auto-only), I'm going to do the same.
