TSX Hood Bolts Color Matched?

I have an odd question- I was wondering if the four hood bolts (two bolts on each side of hood that hold the hood to the hood arms) are color matched to color or your car, or just silver?

I ask because I had to get my hood replaced, and when I got the car back the bolts were silver, but for some reason I recall them being color matched to the color of the car (in my case Meteor Silver Metallic.) Am I crazy, or did the body shop f* up and use the wrong bolts on my hood?

The bolts should be body colored.

I don't think you're going to get anywhere here. Who cares about the color of bolts on the inside of the hood, especialy silver vs silver? The body shop is going to give you a serious .

i think the concern is that they may have used the wrong bolts, and the color is just an indication of that.

I would imagine they used generic bolts of the same size as the originals. I don't expect every piece of hardware to be from Honda for a body shop fix. This is of course assuming the hood seems to be securely and properly fixed to the raising hood arms and everything is flush, if not, i'd be mad as hell too.

I know i've mixed up which bolts go where before when fixing stuff (lawnmower, snowblower, etc). so if there was no reason why the old hood bolts wouldn't be reused, i'd be concerned that they're somewhere they shouldn't be, and replaced with bolts that aren't to original spec. I wouldn't raise hell about it if everything looked ok, but i'd at least call and ask what happened to the original bolts- if they said they couldn't reuse them and had to replace them with equivalents, then i'd drop it at that. If they said they reused all the original hardware, then i'd start getting more inquisitive.

Exactly. I expect my car to come back from the shop EXACTLY the same way it did before it went in. There's no reason for them to not use the original bolts that were color matched. Maybe I won't be "raising hell", but it will be mentioned...

maybe they wanted to give you brand new bolts instead of reusing old ones. just get alittle touch up paint and paint it.

I'm hoping that's the case, but I want to hear what they say. This place (as I would assume most body shops do) pride themselves on getting the car back exactly to it's original form, and since they are already re-painting my left front fender I would think they could easily paint those four bolts at the same time...
