Trunk tray just saved my ass!
So I got some take-out tonight, and it came in a box so I put it in the trunk. I thought it would be stable so I took one or two corners at "normal" speed, but when I went to unload I saw that the box was on its side and sauce had spilled out. If I didn't have the trunk try it would have been a disaster, stains that would have never come off, but with the trunk tray it was just one groove that had the sauce in it and nothing else was touched. Best of all, my wife didn't even notice.
So all you prospective TSX buyers... get the trunk tray!

Aint Doing Sh*t
i was not so lucky....i left a bottle of windex that somehow came open and spilled everywhere! now my whole car smells like it! i had to take everything thing out of my trunk but it soaked in to the truck liners and the pad that under the spare. i took the cover out and wash it off but that's not working. i am glad the honda got smart on didn't make the liner out that cheap ass particle board. it's made out of plastic covered in carpet. i feel like kicking my self in the ass now for not getting!!! stupidity has it's rewards.

Trunk Tray is a must. Wife went to pick up a Hay Stack for Halloween decorations a few weeks ago so of course there was Hay all over the trunk. Lift out the tray, shake it around and goodbye Hay.

Got mine for free with the car, plus the mud flaps. I don't like how things roll around in the trunk though.

The didn't charge us any labor 'cause they made us wait, and said they'd be raising their install rates on it immediately.

This is my first trunk tray, but I have to say I am impressed with it. I recall a thread here a long time ago and someone was complaining about how useless the tray was for them. It keeps the trunk 100x cleaner and cleans up easily. I also have the cargo net and installed myself.

The TSX net is kind of a joke. It hangs sideways across the trunk where I guess it might be useful for keeping shopping bags standing up, but not really holding them in place. You have to remove the trunk liner on both sides, and drill holes to attach the anchor points, then return the trunk liner. My dealer quoted 1.5 hours of labor to install this minor item. I suspect that realistically it's more like 45 min. to an hour. Needlesss to say, I passed.

As some have already said, the TSX net is sort of lame. There are other nets you can get for the TSX (like the Nissan 380Z version from what I understand works nice).

some tuna juice leaked out of a container in the trunk a few months ago. smelled like ass for a while, but it cleaned up pretty well. the trunk lining/material seems to be fairly moisture/odor resistant. maybe it didn't reek since it was only on the floor for about 20 minutes though. ironic since my tray was on its way when it happened.

I just picked up my 2005 TSX yesterday (SSM/Ebony/Non-Navi) and I have to say that it's a great car. I also drive a 1999 Mazda Miata, and the TSX definately doesn't have the same flingability, but it is almost eerily quiet, very comfortable, and silky smooth, and I think it will serve me better when I'm out wooing women. ;-)
In any case, I was debating whether to drop the money on the trunk tray when inspiration struck. I went down to Target and bought a giant plastic Rubbermaid container. Cost: $9. It is tall enough to keep my groceries from flying all over the trunk when I'm swinging wildly around corners, and it fits perfectly into the narrow section in the back of the trunk if I want to keep it from sliding around. It should also be easier to clean than that tray.
Anyway, that's my two cents. There are some really good Miata forums that I've learned quite a bit from the last few years, so I'm happy that the TSX has such a great one. Now I just need to find a good deal on a non-scratchy tint job...

Drives With Hands
Here in the lovely New England winters, both the trunk tray and all season floor mats come in extremely handy for containing the salty slush and snow that inevitably will get tracked into the car. Trunk tray could probably be substituted for by something else, but the all season floor mats are pure bliss.
