trunk tray fit?

I just got a trunk tray from hondacuraworld.com and it seems to not fit completely snug. There is about approximately a 2 X 3 inch gap between the edge of the tray and the rear right pocket (facing the bumper). Everything else seems to fit snug. Is this how it's supposed to be or is it a defect in this piece? I can't seem to find any pictures of the trunk tray in full profile and how it fits in.

Thanks...

Normal. I use it for small items that I don't want rolling around inside the trunk.

I received mine recently for my '06, and I have the gaps you are referring to on either side. I'm not overly concerned with it, and use it for my first aid kit and flashlight.

That's another example of great Honda design work. An extra pocket section for those little things that you don't want sliding around.

BTW - If you really want to complain about something that's slightly more important you should have bought a Jetta, or a Jag, or a fill in the blank.

Yes that is normal. Used for a simple compartment. No biggie. May not look snug, but the tray doesn't move anywhere, so you don't have to worry about anything.

Then your description in 1st post was off

>> gap between the edge of the tray and the rear right pocket (facing the bumper).

There is also gap on the left side.
Gaps on right/left sides, not "facing the bumper"

The trunk tray already saved me from stinking up my car. I went to Sam's club and I had a family pack of chicken breast in the trunk. I did not realize there was a small hole in the package and a lot of chicken juice spilled in the trunk. I just pulled out the tray, washed with hot soapy water, let dry in the hot sun, and I was back in business in about 10 minutes.

I use the small slots between the trunk tray for holding the manuals for the car. I wish they would put two mesh pockets in those spots for holding small junk (manuals, first aid kit, flash lights, rain parka, etc...).
