Trunk open switch on the factory remote problem!

I finally got my 06 a few days ago, and have been enjoying it alot.

1 problem that's come up is the fact that if I hit the trunk open button on the factory remote, nothing happens. Nothing happens with either remote. The little light on the remote doesn't even come on like it does with the other buttons. Such as the lock and unlock buttons. The trunk opens fine when I pull the little lever by the drivers seat. I know of the switch in the glove compartment, I've had it in both positions and still nothing happens with the remote. Am I missing something else?! Or do I have a couple of bad remotes?

you do know that to open the trunk you have to hold the trunk button down, and not just press it like u do for the lock/unlock features.

I've noticed with mine........that sometimes the trunk pops up and other times is just unlocks but doesn't pop-up. Try it with the FOB and then pull up on the trunk to see if it unlocked.

you need to hold the trunk release button for the trunk to open.

LoveMyTSX,..........if sometimes the trunk unlocks but does not pop up,......its most likely because the seals that keep stuff out of the trunk is a bit "sticky" so to speak,....... because of things like dirt, weather, temp, humidity, etc. The odd time time it happends to me,......nothing is wrong with the trunk.

Funny, I had the same problem (for the first time) this morning when loading my golf clubs into the trunk.

I pressed the trunk release button from my house... heard the "click" that I normally hear, but the trunk didn't open (not cool because I had a golf bag in one hand and my lunch bag and the oh-so-sacred coffee mug in the other. Get up to the car, and had to pull on the trunk to get it to open. Heard the peeling/un-sticking sound from the seals.

At least I know the seals work well! But, I suspect its the spray wax from the wash bay near my work - probably kinda sticky.

I agree........I wasn't stating it was a problem, just that it happens. Tks

Isn't there a switch in the glovebox that disables the trunk release?

I believe that disables the remote trunk release/gas cap lever. I don't recall if it also disables the FOB, but I don't think so.

Not sure. The keyed lock on the manual door sill switch prevents the trunk from being opened by the lever (the gas door still works), but the fob still opens the trunk. I *think* the glovebox switch only prevents the trunk from being opened by the release lever above the license plate.
