O,my wipers......

Guys, these days been raining here.I found out that my wipers are kinda loud? Sometimes,it's quiet,no sound at all,and sometimes,it really squeaks and making those uncomfortable rubbing sound.I didn't wipe when the windshield is dry,I always do when it's raining or wet. However, even at the lowest speed in moderate rain, the squeak still persists.Sometimes I am afraid that the glass would be scratched.
Anything could be wrong here with my wipers? Only 1 month though...

Clean your wiper inserts with some silicon spray. That should cure the problem.

I've had the same problem on my '06. Took it to dealer who swapped with new blades off another '06 which didn't help. I am using a RainX type product which has improved the rubbing a lot, but do need to reapply regularly.

Are you using rain x or something on the windshield? I find sometimes that can cause some squeaking because water beads off of it so well. Otherwise I find my wipers to be quiet.

But they will remain loud. For some reason they're very loud, louder than conventionnal wipers.

are you saying these are just inherently louder possibly due to design?

You may want to clean the blades with alcohol. I also use Rain-X on my windshield. NO sqeaks here.......

Saucy, are you saying the 06's are loud or TSX in general?

When I first purchased our 06, the wipers squeaked. Then I clayed the windshield and cleaned the wiper blades. Even in the repeated Seattle mist/rain they are whisper quiet now. So it is not the design.

Perhaps the transport wax leaves a residue that the dealers don't/can't clean off?

Probablly residue. Buy Stoner's Invisible Glass at Autozone or somewhere. It's not like Windex, more like drycleaning fluid. Rub like hell with paper towels, get it totally squeeky clean and dry, and do it about three times, the first time. Really takes it all the way down to the glass.

Don't put Rainex on the windshield. Only place I would use it is the sunroof to protect from scratches and acid rain, maybe on non-swept parts of windshield.

Could also be crappy windshield wipers. I change them same times as winter tire changeover.

Check this on your wipers

check and see if the wipers are not wiping off the windshield. I noticed my wipers on my CL were going right off the windshield and smacking the sides of the car frame. I checked around I took the entire windshield arm off and show that the gear that the arms sit on. the gear teeth were wore out so it was smooth with no friction there. So that is what caused my wipers to be loud as heck.

It's not the same types of wipers on the 06 as the conventionnal wipers anymore. That being said, the OEM wax on my windshield is long gone. And if I want a reasonnable wipe, I definitely need to clean my rubber inserts before each startup. Which I'm finding more and more annoying. And still the wipe is becoming worst as time goes.

I'm more and more disappointed by them. I'll have the rubber insert on the driver's side replaced, because there is a full 4" band of windshield that plainly isn't wiped right at the level of my eyesight, and I think this may be because the insert is either too soft or too flexible. But the result is BS.

The wipers on my '06 strike me as loud as well -- and our Pacific NW climate gives them plenty of use. I have only tried basic stuff like wiping off the inserts; I'll try claying the windshield (or perhaps even some of the chemical cleaning suggestions.)

I've also wondered if changing to a more conventional blade would have any impact -- I assume the wiper arm is designed as an all-weather device but I don't see any obvious benefits over the Bosch wiper blades I've used in the past. I can see how they would be very handy for clearing snow and slush, not as much for regular rain and mist.

I wasn't going to post but those wipers are loud because of the design.

I purchased a set of Reflex blades for my GF's Accord and they are the exact same design as the 06 TSX's.

So if your planning to switch to the Reflex thinking they look the same and might not squeak, i'll save you about $40+ and tell you that the Reflex do squeak as well.
