Touch screen dead 2005 tsx

Looking for any suggestions on a fix for a touch screen that is blacked out on 2005 TSX. No touch controls work now, navi, radio, climate, etc. No home screen like usual. Followed replacement of passenger door lock actuator somehow.

I have seen mention of mailing unit into alpine but it is unclear if that will fix issue. Saw mention that would still have to take repaired DVD unit into dealer to re-sync with car. It also seems strange that DVD unit would be involved with running climate and audio controls. I do get some flickering on screen so it may not be a problem with the in-dash unit.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Even dealer said it would probably take two separate appointments to fix.

See this is exactly why i got extended warranty because the tech in these cars are expensive if they were to ever fail. That said. My 08 TL's screen failed last week and Acura is replacing the head unit. The DVD drive has nothing to do with failed touch screen. Read errors are the reasons why folks get their DVD-Rom drives fixed. I could be wrong. Good luck.

Did you just send in the DVD unit from the trunk or the in-dash screen assembly?

you might want to just try to unplug it. just take out the center holder thing (put your hands in it, and turn them and pull it right out). and then unplug it and plug it back it. worth a try. it works with my aftermarrkt ipod player

good luck!!

The unit itself. Nothing to do with the screen for me.
