Totalled My TSX

Here's what your TSX will look like if you t-bone someone who pulls into traffic without looking. I was going about 40 mph when it happened, and walked away with no injuries, so I can definitely vouch for the safety of the TSX in a collision.

The insurance company wrote it off as a total loss. There is more damage than appears in the photo, so I get to pick up my new '07 tomorrow afternoon.

Identical in every way to the '06 in the photo.

glad to hear you are ok. how much damage did the other vehicle have. if you were only going 40mph I would hate to see what the car would look like if you were going faster. (scary). the reason I am saying that is because my daughter has an 04 hyundai accent. while driving to work on route 9 in freehold.nj doing 50-55mpg another driver made an illegal left turn in front of my daughter. My daughter could not stop and hit that car. the other driver took off. My daughter car did not get totaled. No injuries. Her last car was another hyundai. she totaled that-going too fast, failed to negotiate a sharp curve and hit a tree head-on. again no injuries. I quess despite all the negative things about hyundai's they are great in some ways. good luck and be careful

It was non-navi. I thought about trying to keep it for parts, but I have no extra space to store it.

The other car was an '05 Camry. I hit him in the driver-side pretty good. There was less damage than my car had, but it was still pretty messed up. The other driver was just dazed and shaken up, but no injuries. I would not want to be on the receiving end of a t-bone collision!

The other driver. He claims he didn't see my car as he pulled out into traffic from an apartment complex. From the time I saw him, to the when I hit him, it was probably only one second. I don't even think I hit the brake pedal.

Sounds like Jeff G had the right of way so it was the other driver's fault.

Sorry to hear about your car, but the important thing is that you are okay. A 40 mph collision is not an insignificant one.

Let us know how the '07 differs from the '06, if at all.

you should take your ecu from your old car if you plan on getting a reflash. The reflash for the 07's is indefinite

I believe the systems are completely different for the '06 and '07 so you wouldn't be able to just swap them.

glad you areok. Also good to hear that your insurance considered it a total loss. I would hate to get that thing back after being repaired. I would always feel like it was broken.

How come some people are talking about ripping out the nav or the ECU? Isn't that not legal???

From what I'm reading, the car was insured, and the victim received money for the loss. That means that the car is titled off to the insurance company now. (I'm pretty sure that's how it rolls, correct me if I'm wrong.)

So I don't think you can rip parts out and sell it on EBAY.... It's like me buying a car from you, and then you coming to the car next day and ripping out the stereo. Doesn't make sense......

Sorry to hear about your accident, but glad you're OK... Good luck with the '07! So sad to see this lovely ASM out at the wrecker's next to an old Volvo and a CRX. Despite her rhinoplasty, she's still the best looking car out there!

A lot of the time, the insurance people or whoever will let you buy the car back. Sometimes for dirt cheap, next to nothing kinda money

i think i had way more damage than you..

damages were adjusted at 8,600 or so.. thats including my windshield being cracked by the adjuster along with scratching the passenger fender and refinishing the driverside door [adjusted messed up a few things]
only costed really about 4k or so to buy all the parts. and ended up doing most of the work myself with a good family friend.
