Temporary Paint Protection Ideas

I am going to be taking a 600 mile road trip over labor day weekend. I have noticed that the paint on my TSX chips VERY easily. What can i put on the front of the car to protect it from rock chips and bugs just for the trip. Basically im looking for a temporary solution just for road trips.

wax won't protect your paint from rock chips. it will make the bugs come off easier though. your best bet is using the painters tape as mentioned above. put it all over your front bumper and the bottom quarter of your hood.

I agree wax will not protect your paint from rock chips nor bugs. I know I have tried. I travel from NC to NJ and back every few weeks. (635 miles one way). I wash and wax my car before I leave, wash it in NJ and the wash it again when I get home. I also have gone on two cross country roadtrips in my 06 tsx (6,000+ miles each time). My car, unfortunatly has alot of chips thanks to the lousy paint but the touch-up paint helps alittle. I should have invested in a clear bra when I first had the car. It still looks excellent from a distance.

Wash/wax then painters tape. I've seen it used.

if you still have time to buy a oem bra then invest on it. i believe it takes the same amount of time to put on an oem bra as the painter's tape. plus it looks more decent.
