Sure drain

Does any of you use sure drain?
I believe some1 complained that oil leaks using this plug. Any1 else have this problem?

Do I still need a washer with the sure drain?

I've been using the Sure Drain for the my past several oil changes with no issues. No, you don't need a washer either. It does drain a bit slowly but other than that, it's not messy and you don't have to worry about getting a crush washer all the time. So far, so good

I don't have it on my TSX, but it's on my truck. That way I don't have to choose between making a mess or removing the skidplate. Makes oil changes much easier. As stated above the positives are no mess (usually zero oil on hands) and does not require new washers. The only negative is that it drains slowly, but I use that opportunity to drink a beer, which of course turns it back into a positive!

I used one for awhile without issue. I don't believe they sell it anymore though, so maybe there were some problems with it. The problem was screwing the drain onto it, it was a little tight with that frame for the oil pan cover being there. Plus it drained pretty slow and I think left a bit more oil in the pan than with just the drain plug. What really sealed the deal for me though is that yeah, it makes the oil draining a little cleaner, but I still can't get the oil filter off without making a huge mess anyway, so there seemed to be little point.

Have you ever tried putting a 1 ltr soda bottle with the bottom cut off below the filter? Just unscrew the filter until it starts to drain, put the soda bottle underneath to catch any oil, then remove the filter as you let it drop to the soda bottle. I've done this many times, and it works great for me
