Sunroof visor

Does anyone have the OEM sunroof visor?

How does it connect to the car? Is drilling of holes required or is it a very easy install?
Does it cut a lot of noise out on the Freeway?

What does everyone think of this one?
It is not a real Acura one, but it's only $49 total shipped. This is about half the price of the OEM Acura version.

Hi:

I have the exact same piece that I bought from the exact seller on ebay. A really great guy to do business with, he sells a lot of these.

That said, for the money it is great. It really works well on cutting down the noise. There is no bolting, you basically have 2 metal clips that attach to the underside of your sunroof (roof) trim. This makes for an easy install, however it is not as secure as the OEM version that bolts to the roof.

Mine is coming loose a bit, but not to the point that I am worried...plus I can just tighten it up. This is just normal from highway speeds.

Looks wise it is not as aero as the OEM, but I saved a lot of money on this one.

I love mine, if you go for it you will probably like it too. Hope this helps.

Do you think that there is any danger of the visor falling off on the freeway?

I'm worried that it might fall off and hit someone's car or cause an accident.

i had my dealer throw in a visor as part of the sale, and so far so good, no complaints. i noticed while test driving the tsx, the gaping hole created some noise, which the visor cuts down on. it is ver quiet with the sunroof open, tho the visor does mar the smooth lines of the car.

IMO these things look guly, plus the TSX already has this mini-visor that raises up when you open the roof. Because of that little gizmo I notice it has very little turbulence on the inside of the car compared to my Accord.

The TSX has a little mini visor built in? I thought it opens flat out like the accord. Wow...learn something new everyday.

My wife's accord has one and I don't really like it. Cuts down on wind noise but collects crude so I remove it once in a while to clean underneath. Taking it off and on eventually scratches paint off the sunroof opening. I try to leave it off but then I get complaints. It also makes the sunroof opening seem much smaller.

I have a visor on the sunroof of my 91 Legend. It makes it harder to wash the car; and when the wind is strong and coming from the front the thing vibrates like crazy. If you take it off after it's been on a while the paint is messed up. I wouldn't get another one.

does this apply to the new tsx's? wouldnt the paint be a little more durable nowadays? cuz if it isn't i might have to remove my visor....

Re: visor affecting paint

I think the 91 paint was about as good as what we have now, it's in good shape generally despite not being garaged.

I haven't actually taken the visor off; other people in other threads have commented about problems with other accessories (bras, mud flaps) that show a "tell-tale line" after they're removed.

Spend the extra $$$$ and get the OEM one, you will be a lot happier plus you don't need to worry about fitting or quality problems. I spent the extra $$$$ and got the OEM one.
