This sucks!!

I stopped at the local home improvement store on my way home from work. 20 minutes later I come out to find that some moron had slashed all 4 tires on my TSX. I almost caught the guy as the tires were just starting to deflate when I got there… 7 k miles on the car… What’s the matter with people? In a way I’m happy I didn’t catch them on the act, because I would have lost my temper and probably made things worse.

The car is now at the dealership waiting for new tires. Does anyone know how I should expect to pay for them? Obviously I have no negotiating power with the dealership…

I’m not getting too upset over this, I think justice has been made already. I’ve got a nice TSX and chances are the moron that this that doesn’t…

Sorry to hear... You most likely have to pay for them but I would replace them with better tires instead of the OEM tires though.

Sorry to hear that. Vandalism on someone's ride is the lowest of the low. Whoever did that was probably jealous of your nice ride.
That person deserves to get kicked 10000000000000 times in the nuts!

At any rate, You shouldn't expect the dealer to pay for anything. To tell you the truth, i dont think that they will. The only people you can expect to pay, is your insurance company. But depending on how much your deductable is. It may not be worth it. The stock tires are kinda cheap anyways. Plus they kinda suck. This would be a good chance for you to ugprade your tires!

I would completely freak if that happened.

I agree with JTso, there are many better tires that cost less than the OEMs. I'm procrastinating on replacing my tires, but when I do it will likely be the Avon M500 or Fuzion ZRi.

Reminds of when I went to the casinos for a couple days. I parked there for two nights and came back to find swirls and x's, and circles on one passenger side of the car. Pissed me off! Some people...................

that's so crazy weird....keying would be much quicker and easier no ?

Just wondering - what kind of knife or tool you need to quickly slash new tires like TSX has ?

but I am touching wood that neither will happen to my TSX!

Sorry to hear man!! But do you have insurance coverage for vandalism? My deductible for vandalism ($300) would make something like this a very good chance for a tires upgrade for $300 (in CAD too!)...

Might just as well use this chance to upgrade from the OEM tires...

Doesn't your insurance cover vandalism?

I've never slashed tires before.
But you'd be surprised how easily a sharp knife will cut through rubber. Especially ones with a sidewall that isn't that stiff like on our OEM.s

sorry to hear,

man that really sucks, that is the lowest of the low for sure. However, i work for an insurance company and i think the best thing would just be to buy some aftermarket tires, because you want that claim to show up for just a couple 100 bucks. it takes 6 ys for a claim to come off your record, and the province i'm in, having a claim means a high loss exposure therefore, depending on other claims it could affect your claims tracking. My suggestion would just be some aftermarket tires. Anyways guys, just like to broadcast i just picked up my 05 tsx 6spd mani, and man im loving it, it's so tempting to take it to like 4500, 5000 rpm.
Im trying to take it easy. Man i would hate for soemone to clash my tires that is an inconvenient expense. peace and good luck.

Sorry to hear eegrad, it sucks to have to replace stuff that someone else messes up because they're jealous of your car.

Like JTso said, I'd go ahead and try to get better tires as a replacement. Good luck!

Wow...that sucks. If I were you, I would get some better tires and buy one of the road hazard warranties that will replace your tires for no cost, no questions asked if they come damaged within a particular period.

Get some Yokohama Avid V4s, great all-season high performance tire, for $102 each + shipping at tirerack, or $110 + tax/install at Big O. I have the same tire size 215/50/17 and that's the cost.

They are grippier than the Michelins, and they work well.

I don't think he'll need all season tires in Ft. Lauderdale

I didn't think gabedabomb needs all-season either since he's in Los Angeles, CA.

All season in LA means: fires, mudslides/floods, earthqakes, and riots.
