a few questions...

I have a few questions. I searched for something about this but turned up nothing. I have been having this annoying rattle noise coming from the drivers door. It sounds like it is coming from the drivers door lock lever area. I can't but my finger on it. I will punch the door while driving down the road. It helps for like 2 seconds then goes back to rattling again. It is about to drive me crazy.

Also I notice that say I crank my car up for the first time of the day, when pulling out of my parking spot and driving I will hear this loud crunching sound and feel something through the gas pedal. Is this common? Another noise I notice is when I change gears from say R to D or vice versa I hear this awful sounding noise. It sounds like two metal plates clanging together.

Has anyone had the noise things happen to them?????

Thanks

Craig

1) learn to live with the rattles

2) One of the noises you hear could be the ABS, its normal

Ok for the door rattles, check out in problems and fixes for the TSBs at the top of the page, and you'll find the info you need.

As for the crunching sound when cranking the engine, I honestly don't know. Maybe a cat was seeking heat under the hood and got caught in th belts?

And the reverse gear vs 1st gear, it's because you're fighting to get the gears in. This is NOT GOOD. The reverse isn't synchronised (as far as I know), and so you should wait for your car to be at a complete halt to get in or out of reverse. If you hear that kind of grinding, by all means, DON'T FORCE THE GEAR IN.

He has an auto transmission, not a manual sauce. The door panel noise needs Dynomat and speaker replacement. That fixes the rattles. Take your door panel off and you will see the source of the noise. The stock speakers are held in with a cheap plastic braket not even screwed into the door good.

Craig,

I remember reading a long time ago on this forum that someone had this same rattle and fixed it themselves. I'm not much help here because the post was a long time ago, but the solution is out there somewhere, you just need to search and patiently read the posts. Good luck.
