Stolen Keys!!

Stolen Keys!!
Thats right! Right outta the gym. I had my wallet, cellphone and keys (along with the FOB) locked up in a backpack in a gym locker. The fucker ripped the damn master lock, along with the locking mechanism on the door right off the door.
Somehow I have to get my car "re-keyed" I have to get the ignition and the fob reprogramed at the cost of $98.00 I also need a spare key ($55) and a spare FOB ($100-150). But even then, the fucker can just use the key to open the door manually, however, it won't start the car. If I were to be thorough, I'd have the locks in the doors replaced too, but I still need to get a quote on that from the Acura Dealership.
Also had to put new locks on my house too, need a new license, credit cards, etc. What a bitch.
All in all, he cost me about $700-$750.
END RANT

I work out at a fitness first club. Its a regional club (may have about 20 sites). Its not ghetto, but not a top of the line exclusive gym either. I'd say its about average and thefts are pretty rare. I have no idea why this guy targeted my locker...there were plenty of unlocked lockers there for him to steal from. There were plenty of people there at the gym, but if he was alone in the locker room at the time, it only takes a few seconds.

Did the gym have any cameras inside the locker rooms?

Yep, from now on, drivers license and keys only! the drivers license will stay in the car too.
Also, pretty sure having cameras in a locker room are illegal!! Although there might be entertainment value if they were in the womens locker rooms!

Jerks! Here's something that I found out...
I put all my stuff in a locker at the gym and locked it up. Then I pulled on it really hard to see if it would open. It did. I looked to see why and notice that the latches that were holding the door on were bent. Like someone had pryed it open before. I would have never known it would do that because it still latched, just not enough.
We have a problem in my area with people braking into cars parked in gym parking lots and movie theaters cause they know you'll be in there for a while. And lockers aren't that safe now, so what the hell are we supposed to do?

Great had to read this just as I'm heading out the door for the gym. One more thing to worry about.

When I go into the gym, I usually only leave my spare clothes in the locker in a backpack. When I workout I carry a fanny pack which holds my discman, wallet, keys, watch, valuables, etc. I usually reccomend everyone carry their things in a small bag with them.
Only think in my locker are clothes, shoes, deodorant, soap, and towel.

I only bring my keys and gym pass, which are clipped on to a lanyard around my neck (with a detachable clip so that I don't choke in case it gets caught around something). Everything else stays in the car.
