Unfortunately not..you'll need the MP3 attachment part # 08A06-4E2-200. It's a MP3 CD player located in the empty storage bin below the center console. Cost is about $400.

Dont get the acura MP3 attachment. @$400 it's way overpriced and doesn't even display song titles. At this point yuo're better off burning your MP3's as CD and stick them all in the 6 disk changer.

I have way too many MP3s to burn onto audio CDs.

So is my only option this $400 attachment?

Well... you can always alternate. Come on, a CD can play at least 1 hour on average. More if the data is compressed a tad (which MP3's are compressed anyways). 6 CD's is minimum 6 hours of music nonstop. You'll go through that in like what? 4 days? then switch them out.

Or... you can wait until acura figured out what's wrong with the 06 iaudio thingie since most are having trouble with it.

But IMHO the $400 is really not worth it.
Or... just activate the XM radio. It's got more channels than i know what to do with.

Does the 06 not need an interface like the Soundgate device to hook up an auxiliary input?

What does one need for jacking in an iPod on an 06?

Thanks.

I'll be buying a 2004. That is why I asked about the 2004s in my post.

I would prefer to use my MP3 CDs vs buy an Ipod.

All you needs is an IPOD and this...

A male to male 3.5mm Jack cable.

One end goes intot he IPOD, the other in the AUX port in the glovebox.

GM, Go here P.I.E $39 and you will find the Navi pass through. But buy the interface from the manufacturer it will save you some money.

Has anyone got a picture of the AUX port in the glovebox?

I don't think the 06 Accord Euro has this feature.

& your post isn't a waste?

Don't bother if you don't have anything to add to the topic at hand.

God forbid someone should want to find out things before they buy a car.

Let the guy get his info right. He's doing his homework before buying the car. Can you blame him for that?

But your asking about this BEFORE you have the car is kind of "weird"

It's like checking out a house you want to buy and you focus on studying the toilet bowl.
or getting a big thick steak and you asking the waiter about grill marks

If you are REALLY interested - get over to the dealer and study, think, play, meditate all you want.

And forcryingoutloud Who TF is still using MP3 discs anyway ???!!!
You gotta be the biggest dumbfawk if you get the $300 OEM MP3 player/attachment kit.

:whocares: WTF does it matter to you anyway? If you don't like the guy or what he says, stay out of the thread. Go troll somewhere else.

Let him gather all the info he needs. This site is for just that.

Maybe it's not a big issue for some of you, but I enjoy my MP3 CDs and will not go back to regular audio CDs. I need the large library of music at my disposal.

To do what, sit in the car, take apart the dash and check it all out? I've already driven the car and I know it's what I want.

What's the big problem w/MP3 CDs? I burn my own music.

Don't spend $400 on a marginal quality head unit that doesn't even have a display capability. You can use one of the ipod adapters, or if you want something permanent in your car, get a good Alpine MP3-capable head unit for about $200, or a Phatnoise trunk-mounted mp3 player, better yet if you can find one (necessarily used), an Empeg. There's a post in the A/V section about how to use the SNHOND3 adapter and some cleverness to use a third-party external head unit (it's designed for an ipod but should work to connect the RCA outputs of any stereo that has em) even if you have a nav system on the '04.

PS: people who say the stereo is not an important enough property of a car to be worth checking out before you buy it are uncultured philistines at best

I could use the Pioneer head unit that I will be taking out of my current vehicle, but where would I mount it? Surely it would look out of place just jamed in the slot where the factory MP3 player piece would go.

If I can mount that & hook it up properly then I'll go that route. Otherwise, I guess I have to buy a damn Ipod.

I've seen a number of people mounting electonics in the storage space under the radio. They've set it up where the door actually hides the unit.
