Squeaky Button
Squeaky Button
I couldn't find a thread on this...
The "Dual" button next to the navi screen squeaks like a a rustry hinge when I press it.
Does anyone know how to fix this? The car is only 3 months old, and I rarely have a passenger to even make use of the dual climate feature, so the button is seldom pressed.
Thanks!

True, but the closest acura dealer and the one i bought mine from is over 100 miles away. i'd rather handle this one on my own if possible, than waste an entire day, especially if the fix involves WD-40

I'm not going to use WD-40 on it.
Although after buying my first house, I leanred that it does fix nearly everything.
I'm sure there something that can be done. Otherwise, perhaps it will just work itself out over time of being pushed.

WD-40 attracts fish. Spray a LITTLE on live bait or lures-you'll be catching the big one in no time. It's a lot cheaper than the chemical attractants that are made for just that purpose. Keep in mind though, using some chemical laced baits or lures for fishing are not allowed in some states.

It removes black scuff marks from the kitchen floor! Use WD-40 for nasty tar and scuff marks on flooring. It doesn't seem to harm the finish and you won't have to scrub nearly as hard to get them off. Just remember to open some windows if you have a lot of marks.
Disclaimer: Gibson6594 added the bold text as a gag. WD-40 may or may not stop the dual button from squeeking.

I would wait until the next dealer visit unless the squeak is going to cause a "postal" incident or road rage.
Otherwise you might try some graphite as suggested or a minute amount of Pro Honda Silicone spray on a q-tip.
You also might swing by a Honda dealer if they are closer.
