Splash guards or not?

I passed on them personally even before I read the threads about them wearing on the paint. I think it detracts from the appearance of the car. Of course I may re-think that when I wax mine again once the weather warms up some.

I reccommend them, because if you don't have them you are risking chips in the paint -- something no TSX deserves. Also, I would not paint them, because it could probably peel. I think they look less noticable in black, but I guess it depends on the color of your car.

I would definately advise against getting them. They dont look that great, but more importantly they completely wear away the paint, right down the the sheet metal. It doest take that long either!

I remember this discussion... I still have not removed mine. If this is really the case, what does Acura say about it?? Wouldn't it be under warranty?
You are talking about both the front (which comes with it) and rear (accessory), right?

You get splash guards to keep mud from splashing on your car, and (to a lesser extent) protect the area behind your wheels from road debris.
I think it depends to some extent on what color your car is. Here in Georgia with the red-clay everywhere, I wouldn't own a white or very dark colored car without them. If you have silver or beige, dirt is less noticeable. Might help up North with road salt and sand, too.

FYI, I put some Husky mud guards on a F350 dually and they came with 3M clear tape pre-cut to cover the paint where the mud flaps contacted the fender. If your motivated it might be a good idea to remove the mud guards and add some clear tape.
There is a clear tape refered to as helicopter tape which is used to cover the leading edge or rotors and props that would probably work great.
